The USB socket in our zs ev has stopped working so we are unable to access android auto. We are out of warranty. The dealer says the socket is damaged and they would need to replace the entire system at a cost of around £4500. Can anyone suggest a workaround?
Thanks

If you can get into the area you should be able to see if it a plug and socket on the PCB which you could then get from a scrapped car.

Thanks but getting at and doing things on the circuit board is beyond me, and I suspect the dealer would have suggested it if they thought it an option. Is there any mileage in using the second (mini USB) which sits next to it? Or Bluetooth?

I mainly use a USB stick loaded with my full music collection and the head unit looks at both USB ports so you should be able to use either. I am going to set mine up on a 128GB stick that has both type of USB connection, one on each end.

On my 2022 ZS, Android Auto only works on the USB "A" port.

As that item is out of warranty, try an independent garage, it will probably be much cheaper.
