Vanarama Issues

What if every time vanarama asked for an update from MG they got told a date then another date then were met with silence from MG then MG come back and say they are still expected here is a new date. What are vanarama supposed to do, as this is what MG have done with a lot of private buyers also, they haven't treated vanarama any differently.
As I said there is no way vanarama went into this wanting to waste money and it would appear as soon as MG have owned up to the fact they are only able to fulfil half their orders of ZS's that vanarama have told their customers and waived the cost of the charger.

I am at a bit of a loss as to what else you think they could have done if they were getting strung along by MG who were promising the cars would come but extending the delivery time.
There are obviously a good few thousand people who aren't going to get the cars they ordered and these aren't all vanarama customers but have until this point probably all been getting told the same info from MG.

As far as the charger It's not really a useless plastic box on the wall if nothing else it's another asset of your property if you ever think about selling it. House builders are starting to fit them to their new houses as added selling point.

I get the whole waste of time effort, stress etc but this is most definitely on MG

Not heard from the forum lawyer who assured me I would be paying for a charger or I would be getting taken to court etc..... Strange that.

The question I addressed wasn't "should Vanarama enforce that condition of the contract" it was "can Vanarama enforce that condition" and your being unable to understand that simple distinction is your problem.

My update from Vanarama said that of the remaining 11,000 UK orders for various incarnations of MG ZS EV's, that only about 5,000 are likely to be fulfilled.

There will be no SE trims fulfilled. Only Trophy trim with a mix of Long Range and Short Range and that the actual specifications and therefore potentially prices may alter.

I spoke to Vanarama today and they said they've no confirmation that SE orders will be cancelled ?‍

Before we phoned I looked online, And the SE is still on the MG site. So don't know were the not supplying the SE has come from.

Interesting, surely they can't be taking any more MG orders of any trim level if they can only fulfil approx 50% of existing orders.

This could well be selective use of the facts to encourage people to cancel.

Perhaps they have learned that 11,000 unfulfilled orders have been made. Maybe they have also found that around 5,000 have since cancelled... That turns into, we've just found out of the 11,000 cars ordered only 6,000 will be delivered. (insert actual numbers used if my memory is failing me!) Not lying, but they know the uncertainty will mean many have to cancel.

I admire those sticking it out - I have a sneaky feeling the cars may arrive shortly!

I don't, I have my actual MG order number (got it from Vanarama) and when I email MG direct for an update, it's always "on shortage". It was a Trophy LR ordered November 2021.

I spoke to my local MG yesterday to see what they had coming in, I was told that the cobalt in the longrange battery pack comes from Russia and this has caused the issue.
However they were keen to tell me that they would be getting 3 cars in which were available all trophy connect between now and April. But they would be at the new price.
I can’t see use getting the cars at to price we agreed and MG will continue to fore full other orders until we either go away or demand has dropped for the car in general.

When Vanarama called me they said they had no idea what models they will get from MG. Seems the standard level of communication from Vanarama.

Got a voicemail from Vanarama, with a number to call back. Must have tried calling back 10 times now, and no answer. Some times the phone is clearly ringing, then get a "Line Busy", so looks like someone is rejecting calls.

Anyone not cancelled yet?

Glad that they're at least honouring some people's orders! I cancelled I'm guessing like many others, not sure if Vanarama and MG have no clue or have just been trying to get as many people to cancel as possible. I ordered an SE and was also told by Vanarama that they wouldn't be sending SE's so interesting to see if they have! Well done for having the patience to hold out! It's paid off!!

Thats annoying!! I also ordered SE LR in November!! Oh well such is life!! My impatience got the better of me!! Hahaha

I ordered a Trophy Long Range Nov 21 and decided not to cancel, so hopefully I may get a call soon too.

You must be one of the first Vanarama orders to be delivered. I'm not aware of anyone else receiving theirs.

My wife got a call a couple of days ago. We are getting the SE LR as well. No delivery date yet but all the original agreement is the same including the free insurance.

Charger hasn't been installed yet, were getting it but we need to contribute £350 unfortunately.

Just curious when you both ordered? Im also waiting for a SE LR in blue. My order date was 23/11/21.
