Very blue thing has arrived...

3kW heater allowed
I believe that the thinking is that a heater should cycle, whereas a charging car wont.
Our Leaf's charger has an oversized plug containing a temperature sensor to ensure it doesn't damage the socket.
It's also why you cannot put a plug on an immersion heater (also 3kW)

The whole thing seems very solid. When I went out this morning the socket, plug and charger were cool but of course it had stopped charging about 10.30 last night. A couple of wee blinkety lights showing which according to the chart on the charger means that charging is complete. The socket box is metal and pretty damn robust-looking. It's not the sort of thing you'd find in a house, it's been fitted as a garage socket when the house was built, presumably expecting heavy loads. No sign that it's not happy with this usage.

The car charged up from under 80% to 100% in about five hours. I think I'm going to have an early lunch and go for a spin on this fine day.

I wasn't even aware that a charging cable was not supplied. So a 3 phase one for the 64KW models will have to be on order.
The 3 pin charger is the standard issue, on early orders they didn't have these available so shipped with type2 instead. I made the supply of a type2 a requirement of my order, and the dealer duly supplied both. Winner.
