Well after having the car for a whole week, I hit a deer
5am in wales …..sigh I am not allowed nice things

However, the damage wasn’t awful, acc sensor housing and some lower grille damage.
Charging port surround cracked and a little bumper damage.
I got off lightly and the 5 proved to be pretty robust.

However when I got home and was repairing and assessing I realised how modular the 5 is. Every part is removable individually.

Even the metal support for the acc sensor is in two parts.
Genuinely impressed, my merc is one massive part for the whole bumper assembly

Most of the lower plastic parts snapped back into place tbh.

There is some bumper damage that to repair will just need a new unit.

The acc sensor still works, I have ordered an new housing for it and it doesn’t look difficult to replace though it may need calibration.

For the moment it’s held in place temporarily and works perfectly.

I am going to call cleeverly this week and get some advice, it will quite possibly be worth just getting them to come up and do the work.

None of it looks complex though tbh and second hand parts are pretty plentiful.
