Voice search of phone book fails to work

When the phone book is connected via Bluetooth to my Android mobile phone the MG voice can not find any name in the phone book.

Is there a solution for this problem.

Contacts not saved to the car? I use Android Auto and voice dialling(?) works ok. If I use the car system I've no contacts. Might get round to saving them by Easter.

Phone needs to be Bluetooth-synced (and allowed access to contacts) for the car to see your contacts. Works fine for me. (Phone contacts that is - I've not tried voice calling without Android Auto also being active).

Yes the contacts in the phone are loaded in the car but the voice search cannot find any names you ask to make a call. However it will find a mobile number and call it.

First thing I did after my salesman had connected my car was to voice call the wife so it has worked although I found my phone had been forgotten so not perfect

The first time I plugged in AA I said "call Elsie". Expecting it to find the person called Elsie in my contacts list and ask me if that was the number I wanted. Instead, within about 15 seconds, I found myself talking to a slightly surprised receptionist at the Elsie Inglis hospital.
