Water problem in the parking brake switch

We had a spill inside the car and got water in the Parking brake switch. The car is drivable but slams on the brake when almost stationary as it can't register the switch condition.

Anyone advise as to how to remove the switch to dry it or replace it if necessary?

Not sure about removing it but you could try a hair dryer on it? not too close obvsly.

I think you'd have to remove the console to remove the switch.

Anyone removed this on the MG5? Found something posted on the MG4 so how different on 5?
