Perhaps if portable starters are covered on the podcast, it could be mentioned that these things typically have LiPo (Lithium Polymer) batteries in them. These are the least safe type of battery, and so should ideally be stored in a fireproof bag.

I'd hate to think of an EV getting burned to the ground, not because of the traction or even the auxiliary battery, but by a LiPo battery in the glove box. The anti-EV press would of course have a field day.

Yeah my MG 5 PfL long range is being serviced and MOT’d on The 12th of September. The garage (Frasers of Falkirk) still insist they will have to check the control box for possible change before downloading the Tesla update.
I’ll not bother if that is required as they quote between £800 and £1000 for the job.
I can’t see me using that amount of charging at the few Tesla chargers available.
We shall see.
