I currently have a MG5 SR its just turned a year old and I must say it has been a pleasure to own
but I miss the higher seating position of a SUV
so I was looking at the MG ZS long range trophy connect for the extra range the higher seats plus all the extra tech and safety Feachers long story short I got a email from Luscombe MG Leeds saying that they have obtained a number of cars which they ordered back in November so I could have the car by may ish happy days
so I ordered the car the price after the affinity programme would be £31.214 rounded down to £31.200 but when I checked with four other MG dealerships they all said the price after the affinity programme would be £30.214
when I asked why the price difference I was told it was because they ordered the cars back in November that they could not get the full affinity programme discount so I called back today to cancel and I was told they could take a extra £500 off to keep the order the question is what to do pay more and get the car sooner or don't ?

For £500 it’s worth getting the car now. Who knows when the real deliveries will start?

Pay £500 and get car soon.Try to check if you can get some extras off them for the £500. Type 2 charger comes with the affinity scheme for free. So does the metallic paint. Not sure of the Mats. Or perhaps one of the 'protection' packs

So those other dealerships would be a new factory order, and you'd have to wait how long realistically..? Into 2023?

If they're definitely giving me a car from that Nov batch for receipt in May, then personally I'd have paid the £500 already! BUT, my decision would be based on the fact my current vehicle could likely cost me more than that in repairs if I waited longer. However I note you say you have a good vehicle, so you don't need a quick turnaround? For some, £500 is a lot to keep in hand and could go toward a lot of battery top-ups or an energy bill increase...

If you do decide to bite and go for it though, and Type 2 and/or paint is already part of the deal - then I'd try and see if they can throw in mats and a service. Or a few valets...something along those lines that'll cost them little, but is worthwhile to you.

I had the SR MG5 and changed up to the new LR MG ZS EV Trophy Connect.

You will not be making a mistake if you stump up the £500 and get the one offered to you.
