When I bought my second hand Trophy Connect LR I got a towbar fitted with a 13 pin socket for trailer wiring. It's been fine for basic "7 pin" trailer wiring purposes but now I come to have a use for a permanent live I find that all the extra pins on the 13pin socket are dead, including switched 12V which is dead when the car is switched on, but really shouldn't be. My immediate assumption is that the lazy s*ds who wired it in didn't do the job properly but as the Witter wiring kit is standard that isn't obviously the issue. Which makes me wonder whether because of the 500kg towing limit the assumption is you'd never need the extra functionality because you can't tow a caravan (although you can tow a trailer tent or even a camping trailer with a fridge when a 12V permanent live would be handy, or even to plug in a 12V battery charger to keep the auxiliary battery healthy when not using the car much which is what I am actually trying to do). Anyway, very long story short, is there anyone out there with a 13pin plug and a multimeter who could confirm that theirs has a permanent live and switched live and hence mine has a fault needing investigation as opposed to one of those little "quirks" that gives our ZS EVs the character that a full featured European or American EV just doesn't have...

I don't have one but my guess is that it's down to the guys who wired it ...

I have discovered that a 13 pin socket pre-wired to 8 core cable is a thing so I think I can guess what has happened. Only three years until the warranty runs out and then I'll get one of the local fitters to do the job properly.
