Evening, must be a common theme. I strolled into my local dealership today and next Saturday I should pick up my new Excite. Loving the forum already.

Reckon the dealers have done the smart thing and just ordered a bucket full of each model and colour to be for sale ASAP without having prior orders! Would explain how there's lots of cars being sold without the wait lots have had to endure!

It looks like it. The proactive dealers are getting the sales where the reactive ones are left with huge wait times

I think so, Exclusive I would have had to wait until July but Excite, I had the choice of Red, White or Silver.

It was the opposite at our dealer. No excite, only exclusive.

I think there's gonna be some pretty annoyed people! Santander have raised their rate 1% and reneged on the contract I agreed. Gone up by (only) £8 a month. But over 4 years, that's £384 extra. Not impressed. Dealer have done their best to placate and offered more for my px and added mats & a boot liner, but Santander are pulling a fast one here....

That's where it gets a bit hazy. The finance paperwork was done and kept at the dealers. I think I know what's happened but can't confirm it, IYKWIM.....
I'm not going to be any worse off as they've practically made all the difference up in the extra for my px and mats & boot liner, but this seems very unnecessary.

They finalised mine late Feb, agreed and checked. Told the dealer money would be released 1st march. 1st march, no money, then they changed the deal to 4900% and my monthly payments would be £3800 a month. Then tried to insist the deal had ended and I needed to pay an extra 1% but the dealer pushed that back and argued with them. Money was released an hour later.

Yeah I read that before. My deal was arranged on 3rd Nov but the finance was left until end of December PRECISELY to avoid any interest rate change... Like I said, I'm not monetarily worse off so I am happy to complete tomorrow, finally, but it sticks it the craw.

I went to the dealership this morning and found my car. It still had a label on it saying that it had come from Shanghai to Bristol on the Viking Sea. They had had 3 MG5s and lots of ZSs come in (I think mostly Standard range ZSs.) Most of the labels also said the Viking Sea, but one said it had come on the Victoria Highway. Talking to the dealer he indicated they have more deliveries this month, but then possibly nothing until June.
The Viking Sea arrived at Portbury on 11th Feb, so it has taken nearly a month for the vehicle to arrive at the dealership because I am told it only arrived there yesterday.

I ordered my MG in September. I had a call today to say it had finally arrived at a port. Should finally get it next week.

I ordered mine end of Jan. also red LR exclusive. Told then May/June, order says April. Suppose anything could happen!
