Haha ? I didn't mean it like that. Which is the trouble with non-verbal communication isn't it?

What I meant was that I am merely posting my updates for the benefit of others, as I have done since I placed my order.

I have been on the forum long enough and watched all the podcasts to know the nuances of the ordering journey so I wasn't after advice, but of course general comments are welcome ??? hope that made sense?

Sorry to hear that. Must be very disappointing (to say the least). I too ordered in (early) January and have been expecting a similar call from my own dealer. Looks as though it’s probably on its way (the call, not the car) . . . ☹️

I'm feeling pretty blessed . I ordered my MG5 Exlusive in Westminster Silver at the end of February this year ,and was told to expect delivery early December. I got a surprise call from the dealer to say that they had a delivery at the docks and I managed to get the last car available from that batch.my car is at the dealers now and I'm collecting it next week,?? when I went this week to finalise the payment they had 8 silver exclusive's on their forecourt all with sold stickers on them.

If only I had a fraction of that luck with the lottery

Great news, the colour has a lot to do with it because of the way MG batch build, you just happened to pick the right colour ?

Either way I feel pretty lucky, I don't know what ship it was on but the dealer phoned me last week to say the cars were at the docks. I then got a follow up call on Saturday to say the cars were in transit and should be delivered this week, when I went to the dealer on Wednesday there was a row of 8 silver mg5s all sold and getting pdi'd

Definitely putting the lottery on tonight???

It's quite possible that a ship due in any day soon has them on board but they can't confirm how long it would take to get from port to your dealer at the moment, hence them being a bit vague?

I tested a MG5 LR today and really liked the drive but really don’t like the current look. I asked the rep if he had any idea when the facelift version is coming and he replied he’d heard September.

Reading through this thread I see some people who ordered their non facelift version in January will likely get it in September/October/December.

Now I’m wondering if he’s feeding me a line just to get me to put my order and deposit in and then he can string me along.

I think they could release it in September to market, but I doubt we'll see demonstrators until the new year and no production vehicles turning up until mid next year - that's just my personal thoughts based on how long I've been waiting and the fact that MG have suspended taking new orders for their EVs currently.

Yes, this does seem strange (unless you're ordering from stock). I thought all MG5 factory orders were stopped a few weeks ago, but perhaps I'm wrong about this (vague memory of Miles mentioning it in a podcast).
 
So, my black MG5 Exclusive company car was ordered early January. The delivery date has been put back and back and was given a very tentative August from the company car lease company. However just looked on the system as a number plate has been assigned and delivery is in progress. Suggests a lathe shipment has hit the UK.

Thanks... it's a company car so It's annoying but not the end of the world.

Delivery date has now been pushed back to end of November!
