Whistling noise from rear spoiler (merged)

I am skeptical that anything in the boot area could create a ringing noise. It sounds to me like a resonance and I would suspect something in the rear suspension.

I would recommend you record the noise and play it back loud to the dealer before they work on the car, so they don't dismiss it as your imagination. And I would insist if they think they have fixed it that they do an extended test drive to check, not leave that to you to do.

Hello. There has been a noise in my MG4 Trophy LR v2 since it was purchased. The sound is a metal friction sound (or a old ringing sound), high frequency, uneven oscillating, and not dependent on the wind, brakes and acceleration. It is a very very disturbing noise. The noise starts at around 45km/h and stops at around 100 km/h. It's been 7 months since I bought my vehicle. For some reason I don't want to go to the service point. I believe that I can solve the problem myself. Although I didn't care at first, it's starting to bother me now.

The attached solution did not work. I also checked the tailgate. Everything including the rubbers seem fine including under the tailgate area (nothing loose).

I have the same noise. First I adjusted the luggage door with the two plastic bolts. Nothing changed. Then I fastened the luggage wing, and put washer to bolts nothing changed. Finally I removed the black plastic cover inside the luggage door and put self adhesive twin d shaped silicone around the plastic cover, and finally no sound.

I heard this on a longer trip back this morning. A sort of high pitched whine which seemed to dissipate when I got slower. Seemed to be back left of the car at speed 40-60. Didn't hear on the way there but could be the spoiler I suppose and wind directions?

What did people add into the "gap" if thats it?

I was at the service centre of MG last Monday just for this noise issue.
Unfortunately, the chief heard the voice but could not find a solution.
From 11:30 AM to 04:00 PM, he and I tried many solutions and drive after every attemp to fix the noise.
I can't fault MG because they tried many solutions.
I think I need to get used to live with this sound, even if it is very weak.

Sorry to hear you still can't pin it down. I have what seems to be a plastic creaking noise from the right hand side C pillar. I think it might be something inside the plastic trim, cables, clips, something like that, but have not pinned it down. Will make sure I check all of these suggestions about the boot area in here as well.

Hello, I’m experiencing the same problem. Between speeds of 60 and 90 kilometers per hour, there’s an irritating sound that resembles either metal scraping or a bird chirping. It’s truly unbearable. I was wondering if you were able to find a solution to your issue?

I have a whistling noise from the rear of the car when driving between 40mph and 70mph (not that I ever drive above the 70mph speed limit).

After much pestering the dealership informed me there was a new bracket that could be fitted between the 2 plastic undertrays as this is where the noise was coming from. It's booked in at the end of the month.

Just a long shot but I think I remember someone having to smooth out the air flow over the Trophy (or XPower) rear top wing to cure a noise. I think they used transparent silicone gel to fill any slight cracks / joints etc. I may be completely wrong though

Great news! I noticed it too, but I couldn’t find the part at the service center. I found it online, then called the service center and kindly asked them to install it. They will fit the part next week. I’m attaching the photos.

There is a service campaign (probably the wrong term) that should be applied under warranty:

I'm in Australia, but I'm 95% sure that the A at the front doesn't make it specific to Australia.

Mind you, the free version is basically a metal bracket and some longer bolts; your solution looks slightly neater. Not that one often looks under the car...

Mine is booked for next week to have them "look at" the bulge. I get they can't confirm they'll do any work over the phone. My MG4 is a Jan 2024 build. The service desk person didn't seem to surprised to get another call on this.
