I want to pick up a sheet of 30mm plywood 2440 x 1220, having it cut down the middle into two parts, making a worktop.
Has anybody tried to put sheet material 2440 in length in the MG4?
It should be fine, I used to be able to do it in my golf which I think was a bit smaller.

* had my second service yesterday, There was a small amount of misting of oil on the motor casing, they are going to replace the breather which seemed odd as I thought there was a recall for affected cars 2 years ago. I hope they have changed the filters and brake fluid hard to tell really. - I did manage to get the service for £179.

SOH 93% on 27K, sound about normal?

I have had 2200 mm pieces of rafters in, slightly diagonal resting on the dash with cushioning, 2440mm is very unlikely unless you leave the boot open? Sudden or emergency braking will require a new windscreen and a good explanation to the driver who stopped in front of you who has suddenly acquired a 4 place coffee table sticking out of their boot lid. Let us know how you got on!!!

Chatting with a friend a while back, and he was saying you can get blow-up roof carriers for occasional carrying. It seems they have straps that go through the doors, after which you blow up the carrying section on the roof. Apparently it comes with additional straps for the load. I think I glimpsed one in Go Outdoors the other day and wondered if that's what he was talking about. He got his from that well-known South American river-themed online bazaar. I've been meaning to get one for exactly this type of requirement, as it seems a handy thing for these occasions. I wouldn't want a roof rack on an EV permanently, although a neighbour has one on his Trophy.

I thought the issue in the UK was that the MG4 is not type approved for a roof rack and insurers decline the use of one - there was a thread on here about that recently.

Out of interest, do anyone know what the max load length is in the MG4 (from boot sill to back of driver's seat - was thinking about fitting skis in).

Going back to the OP, guess cutting it in half the other way isn't an option?

If not, then the likes of Wickes do home delivery of large items via direct-from-store vans - It was free over £75 IIRC - otherwise how about using Jewsons or similar more trade-like suppliers who deliver to site?

Wicks is now free over £85 but only £7 delivery under that figure which strikes me as a lot cheaper than repairing any damage to the car's interior.
