I'm thinking of getting a windscreen frost cover as it's looking quite likely that my first experiences with the MG4 are going to be rather governed by the current cold snap. I don't pick the car up until next week, so I wonder if I could ask some nice kind person on here if they wouldn't mind measuring the MG4's windscreen size and recommending which size in the attached diagram is likely to be the best fit?
Ta muchly.

The widest point at the bottom is 146cm, and the narrowest point at the top is 122cm. Top to bottom (not so easy to measure without moving the wipers) is ~95cm.

Many thanks for that @siteguru , I want to get one before I get the car, as it's looking like it's going to be a frost, snowy week coming up. Having said that, what with train strikes as well, I'm thinking it might be prudent to delay collecting my car for a while!!!

Some food for thought, perhaps? It was -5 here this morning. Car about as frosty as it gets. I turned on the preheat from the comfort of indoors and the car was defrosted and ready to go in 5 minutes. It was actually quicker than my wife’s car which has heated front screen.

That's a good point @Crawfyp
I was thinking more of protecting the camera area so as not to have the problems people have been reporting having because of the camera area of the screen being frosted up. It seems that area, doesn't get the benefit of the heater blower because presumably it's a sealed area.

We haven’t had lots of frost yet this year, but from Thursday last week on is going to make up for that. When you say problems, I haven’t seen those comments, I guess yes that area might take longer but then I’m unlikely to need the front camera immediately after pulling away perhaps ? Today was the first full on test of defrost for me, I was pleasantly surprised how quick and effective it was though….

It's more the fact that the range camera (screen side of the rear view mirror, rather than the front camera used by the 360 system) area can frost up. When that happens the front radar can't corroborate what it's seeing vs what the camera sees, and so ACC and other systems are shut down as a safety measure. (I've had this happen a couple of times - clear the windscreen "triangle" behind the mirror and all becomes OK).

Yes, that's the area I was referring to. I've seen several people mentioning all sorts of warnings coming up because the camera is effectively blind.

ACC/TJA, auto high beam, LKA to name but 3 are dependant on the windscreen camera. (There was another one that came up for me but I can't remember what it was).

You might try this which I heard about recentl and certainly is working for me.
To demist or defrost the windscreen on my HS I put the sun blinds down and put the screen demist blower on. Previously the hot air seemingly went up the screen and then dissipated back over the car headlining. The blinds deflect the heat back down or at least slow down the dissipation concentrating more of the hot air on the screen. As I say, has definitely improved things for me.

I use Rain ex Anti Fog, rarely need the demist blower
