Windscreen Wiper Blades

What is the problem with getting the wiper blades from the main dealer? Sure they may be more expensive than your local parts shop or the internet but just think about how much you saved by buying a MG3 in the first place.
To be honest I don't want to pay £25 per wiper. As I didn't want to spend 25k to 30k for a car which is partially why I bought this one.

I tried Revolution Tools on ebay but they could be of no help as to which adaptor would work.
I looked in the Owners Manual (P318) showing how to replace the blades - they show a completely different method of connection to those on my '3'. How about yours?
I looked at 'Italy's' video above (thank you sir) and it looks like my wipers could be fitted with the 'K9 Adaptor'. Measured the two wipers as approx. 550mm and 480mm.
Hope this helps.

Of course we can buy them from our usual dealer.

The last time I enquired about my previous Jazz the cost was €80 for the pair. I find that extremely expensive and the margin must be enormous.

At Bosch or Valeo it's better, but again the margin is very high.... and not to the buyer's advantage.

I think it's more complicated and on this video the K4 adapter looks the closest.

And I'm not even sure of what I'm saying.

Have noticed when washing car, pull wiper arms forwards to clear the screen and the arm might catch the edge of the bonnet !

The K4 would certainly not fit my '3' as it does not have the hole in the arm for that little pip sticking up. The K9 is still looking good here.

There is a procedure shown to get the arms parked vertically for changing/cleaning blades. Have not been there yet.

It's the same on many car models. As Mgpooter says, the manual explains how to put them into the service position.

This may not be relevant but I was recently looking for spare blades for my MG5. I found genuine SAIC ones on eBay for £20 the pair. Perfect fit. The vendor had four sets when I got mine last week. Maybe he can do MG3 ones? The vendor was vaux27 (Ian Yarker) and he has 2300 parts for various marques listed as of this evening.

I'm not really sure what he means, but this is his reply. . . .

"Hi Clive
Sorry can only get what dealer offers me
Ian"
Looks like no.no, no, yes, no

Looks like we will have to wait for Bosch or Valeo, Trico etc to catch up.

This morning I had the opportunity to chat online with a famous French car parts retailer.

The first reassuring thing was that when I gave them my registration number, they finally recognised my MG3 hybrid +.

I asked him if I could buy a pair of windscreen wipers for my MG3, the salesman asked me if I had a favourite brand and I told him "Bosch or another brand whatever".
After some research he told me that he didn't YET have that model of wiper for my MG3.

I also asked him about the cab filter and he gave me the same answer.

In short, we're still at the same point on this subject

With the ZS Hybrid + coming on stream, the pollen filter should be the same, so there should be more incentive for sporious manufacturers to come on stream. Similarly, I imagine while the wipers may be a different size, the fittings should be the same for the ZS Hybrid and HS. Therefore the tooling costs for sporious manufacturers would be more cost effective. With the car having been launched in late February 2024, the lead in time is probably on par. So maybe by February 2025 we will have some options.

Thanks for that Aitch, had drawn a blank here. Ali-Express are OK, missing the middleman, all very cheap but things always take an age to get here from China. Looks like this one is the only way to go right now.
