Winter fuel payment petition

iThose just above the threshold can end up worse off than those under the threshold after Pension Credit and associated benefits are applied.
This is where we find ourselves now, the extra few quid we get in income, means we lose out on a lot of things, we're quite lucky as we have saved a little and I mean a little, rising prices have shrunk a small pot to a thimble, we do have a Motorhome, but I bought and sold 12 to get to the level we're at and even then it's an 07 reg, and yes we just bought a new car, it's costing us about £60 more than the old one on finance, we don't have money to spare for much, we have to rob Peter to pay Paul as do many.

If the boss didn't get her tiny pension we would get pension credit etc, but you can't give it back or stop it, they just bung it in the bank.

What we really need is a universal income policy. It's been shown time and time again that these promote desirable behaviour, stimulate the economy, eliminate poverty and cost less than byzantine systems of benefits. Politicians don't like them though.
