Just wanted to make a few comments and observations after a week (actually 5 days :)) with my new XPOWER.

  • So far I'm extremely happy with the car. It's definitely no Audi / BMW / Mercedes inside - there are a few obvious cut corners, but I expected that.
  • Sport mode is ridiculously quick. I nearly soiled myself the first time I floored it in sport mode. I've never driven really fast cars before, and there is no way to describe how quickly this gets to 60+.
  • Normal or Eco mode are just fine for day to day.
  • Love the intelligent speed limiter so far.
  • The suspension is a little harsh on country roads, but is fine on decent tarmac.
  • The infotainment sounds fine to these jaded old ears (I like my music loud, but haven't really had the chance to try this in anger so I'll reserve full judgement). The overall quietness of the car helps of course.
  • NO VIBRATION (that I've noticed so far).
  • Door buttons are a little clunky.
  • Haven't really noticed the LKA other than a gentle pull into the middle of my lane yesterday.
  • OPD seems great, but a little annoying that it has to be turned on each time.
  • No chance to try ACC or TJA yet.
  • Climate control seems very good, and fast.
  • No auto wipers - wtf?
  • RED RULES - #teamred

I'll try to remember to update after a month. Hopefully I'll still be as happy.

Glad you like it! I've had mine almost two months now and it's an amazing drive every time.

It seems like the newer builds have had many (but not all) issues ironed out that keep cropping up in the forum. I also wish OPD was easier to turn on. My issues have been trivial so far:

  • Whistling noise at motorway speeds from passenger side. Haven't worked out if it's the quarter glass or bonnet yet (both have been discussed by other drivers here)
  • I have to learn if I unlock the car with the handle button not to immediately try to open it. There is a half second or so delay
  • I have over 2K songs on USB in folders - infotainment lists the whole lot alphabetical without folders

You must try launch control. Make sure you use the loo first

Just realised that I meant to post this in the XPOWER forum. Damned noob!

Anyway, since Launch Control is under discussion, I'm curious. Once it's been started can you back out of it :). In other words, can you just start normally once you've mashed both pedals?

Depends on model I guess. My ford focus had excellent autowipers, rarely had to adjust anything. They just worked.

Still that is a very minor drawback in my book. I have other drawbacks that bothers me more (poor music playback capabilities from usb, subpar audio system/speakers).

Yes, agree with those observations. Had mine since early June, fantastic. I may to setup a site where we can raise issues / suggestions for voting etc, like various settings should persist between drives, although some like ELK maybe down to legislation. The core things are software updates / lack of OTA functionality & lack of feedback from MG on this.

Jumping on the bandwagon, first week report from me too.

  • Plenty quick enough and plenty economical enough if you want it to be
  • I have the vibration, but it doesn't bother me, will wait for a fix at some point
  • No issues with LKA, occasional nibble but pulled it back as I keep my hands on the wheel
  • ACC is pretty good, need to feather the trottle a bit on corners to keep the speed up
  • TJA is only any use on well marked roads and if you see any lines approaching that will confuse it, get it off immediately
  • Dissapointed that you can only spin the front wheels with ESC off
  • The colour is very much marmite, I think it's probably 55% like it currently, the rest hate it
  • Auto main beam is better than on my 2020 Merc, blinding far fewer people
  • Adding a wireless Android auto box is great, google maps is up before I set off
  • I spent £75 on public charging for 200 miles lol! I don't care though as I'm in my imaginary £800 credit as I'm not getting a house charger

Why would you want to spin any wheels :) Which colour did you get? I think the racing green is one of the best I've ever seen, totally suits the design and makes every other car look boring.
