My 2 year service contract is now at an end. I have been offered Y3-Y4 service for £574 - payable monthly at 0%. AA Assist is included I think (will makes it reasonable value) but any other thoughts out there about the value for money??

Just FYI - spoke to Richmond Group HQ and they advised that as long as the MG service is carried out at a main dealer then the AA Assist is included - plan or not

Hi, are all the monthly payments equal? When I did a check online the first payment was nearly as much as the next service then smaller monthly payments.

Do it online at your preferred dealer: еQuote

I think it must vary based on location - the group that I use confirm that the same price applies to all - but let me check! Interesting. Going to the MG site I got a quote of £446 also payable monthly. Includes the MOT too. Thanks for the re-direction

Out of curiosity I added the service items to discover that they totalled £420 but monthly direct debit being the only payment option totals £446. So an additional charge for credit - just not very obvious. I'll probably pay in full each year.

i was told by the dealer that there are odd and even year services. So: Year 3 = Year 1; and Year 4 = Year 2. Year 1 I paid £88, Year 2 £281 (both incl VAT). Add in MoT and in same ballpark as above.

I just had my year 2 service this morning - £295!!. I'm going off piste here a little but don't understand how they can justify this. My brother has a Tesla, also 2 years. The software upgrades are done automatically and all he has ever paid for is a tire rotation. And they come to the house! I find it very aggravating, just a way for MG to make money on "servicing" that isn't required. Even my eGolf didn't require this kind of servicing.

It was probably more a requirement of the dealer network to agree to become MG dealers/service agents, as MG UK don't make any money off dealers doing servicing.

I'm with you - ripping off L, R & C. I've a 3rd year service coming up and at a new dealer who does actually answer questions unlike Caffyns Ashford who are fronted by service numpties. As leasehold is have cake and eat it to freehold, servicing for EVs with no ICE engine or multi speed gearbox should be simple with the car saying what it needs - if anything as I read American Tesla owners are quite used to.

My 2nd year service 24,000 miles was £195 at my local dealer.

I think that's reasonable, there's a bunch of stuff included for the price, including a year's AA assistance.

I personally don't like Tesla's "hope-nothing-goes-wrong" approach. I'd rather have a garage inspection and checks every year and before it requires an MOT.

You can have mobile servicing come to you - check out Cleevely EV and similar services. They do not do software updates, however.

Year 1 for me was £96, year 2 @14,000 miles was £163 at my (nearly) local dealer. Year 2 was basically checks from year 1 plus pollen filter and fob battery.
