I have a ZS EV 2022 write-off with the front airbags deployed. It will not run and I understand this is normal. The battery and driveline are undamaged, and most systems are working.
Can anyone explain how to get it operational again??
Thanks to all who can help.

The car is a write off for parts only. I need to find out how to get the drive system working as it apparently shuts down when the airbags are deployed. The parts will be used in a conversion.

You could try an OBD-II dongle and Torque Pro app to clear all the error codes. Not sure if that will work, but it seems to do everything else.

came across a comment that might be relevant:
Plus, if the airbags have gone off (have they?) it will probably have set off a fuse in the battery as well which will likely be a nightmare to fix.

what conversion are you planning with the parts, to turn an old petrol into EV? how are you planning to fix it or use ZS parts if you are not sure how they work, isn't that a bit risky? I would love to fiddle with my EV but don't dare touch anything ?

if you do manage, would be good to see the progress in videos or photos please

Normally the pyro fuse goes off to prevent the vehicle from being started until the battery has been checked and certified safe by a qualified technician then once the pyro fuse has been replaced it will be ok to drive again.

I work at merc and we aren’t allowed to order a pyro fuse on Bev until we send the diagnostic sheets that say the battery is safe to use, we had a customer who bought a eqa from auction in that had been in a rear end accident, after telling them numerous times we can’t just order one they brought the car in and we found the battery had been damaged and needed to be replaced at a cost of 26k for just the battery so that cheap auction buy was a waste of money, as usual there is a reason insurance companies don’t repair some cars and they end up at auction

This video blog will help you work through all the things you need to do to make the car a moving vehicle again

I recently bought a salvage MG4 to do a similar EV conversion on my '74 VW Kombi, the starting thread is here Anyone know where I can get a workshop manual for an Excite 64

Hope you intend to create a thread for your EV conversion, the more people doing them, the longer the MG's will stay alive rather than parts out and crushed.

Here is another thread on the MG4 section of someone in Bulgaria actually repairing one and getting it back on the road. It is a bit like that Australian ABC series,
'The Bush Mechanics" but hats off to him, he does a great job

Thanks to all who contributed.
Videos of the Porsche conversion referenced earlier in this thread explain that all that is required is disconection of the airbag module. He said pull out all the connectors and the car will run.
I did, and it did.
