Hi all can someone help please ( as the dealership clearly cant) . The sat nav screen on my brand new ZS EV LR shows my start location in Belgium. I live in BATH UK

Only from knowledge gleaned from the forum, as mine hasn’t arrived yet, but I believe you need to go into the settings and turn OFF “dead reckoning”. Hope that helps.

I thought one of the PDI updates was supposed to rectify this? Can anyone confirm please?

If so, you may not have all necessary updates done

The update should have worked, but failed to on my LR Connect, so you still need to turn off "dead reckoning". Once you have turned off "dead reckoning" you need to reboot/reset the system. You can do this by holding the "Home" button down for +10 seconds, then all will work fine.

Nearly every new owner has had this problem. You need to go into settings and turn off dead reckoning. This should be sorted at pdi.

Just picked up my TCLR and assured all updates had been don at PDI.
I was caught out by Dead Reckoning default so had not been updated!

MG should advise dealers to check and modify setting if need be. There must be quite a few people who are instantly stymied by this issue.

Thanks for your replies, i have been back to the dealership HSH BATH, twice with the info you passed on but they are still unable to rectify the problem and have told me that MG have never had this problem before. I really dont know where to go next.

What have they actually done ( if anything ) to resolve the issue ?.
Almost every new Gen 2 owner has had this problem with the inbuilt Sat Nav NOT updating the cars location, when it is on the move.
Have you tried turned off "Dead Reckoning" function in the settings of the head unit ?.
The "work around" for this problem, was discovered by one of the early owners of the Gen 2 model and not by the dealer.
They looked at his car twice and had no answer to rectify the problem !.
Did HSA Bath not even try a complete 12 volt disconnection at the battery, which COULD reboot the 12 volt system ?.

Hi yes i have tried turning off DEAD RECKONING but my sat nav start point still places me in BRUSSELS. The dealership has said they will offer me a loan car for a week to enable them to solve this problem, that was 5 days ago, heard nothing since. Watch this space.

I had the very same issue and my dealer didn't even know about the Dead Reckoning!!!! I read it on this site and told them....... Shocking that everyone is having this issue STILL!

I had the same issue with my Sat Nav. I saw a post which gave instructions to turn off Dead Reckonging, as you’ve already done. However it went on to say-then hold down the ‘home’ button (not the one on the screen). Hold it down until the screen goes dark, then the when the MG sign returns to the screen you can let the button go. I followed these instructions and my Sat Nav is now fine!! Hope it works for you too! Good luck!

Hi, thanks for the tips, i have tried all of these and still no joy. the good news is that the dealership HSH BATH are giving me a loan car from Monday 10th for a week to try and resolve this issue. I will keep you posted.

Have you pressed the home button for 15 seconds approx. to reset after turning dead reckoning off?

Hi yes i have tried holding home button down for 15sec. The home screen still places me in Brussels.
ZS EV LR

This is something more serious.
Land Rover sat navs used to default to Belgium and a change of country (UK) solved that issue.
I suspect either the car has been erroneously set up with a European set up, specifically for the Sat Nav OR there is a problem with the GPS antenna not functioning and it defaults to Brussels.
Out of interest is it always the same location in Brussels?

Not sure to be honest all the dealer tells me is they are trying different up-dates received from MG.

Hi all got my car back from dealer after 4 days in their workshop. Still the sat nav and locked in Brussels. They are very reluctant to change the unit under the warranty, regretting the purchase now.
