Well, my welcome voice in the car this evening stated the date as -"January 1st 1956" - weird!

I've had five cars with Android Auto and never seen it. I'm not convinced it's common at all. I wish MG would do the same as Renault and make infotainment system software upgrades a straightforward download to usb stick for user application ....
From reading it's a very common issue on most makes of cars
I believe it's probably still using a developer package rather than an officially signed version.

Has this been sorted yet? Mine is till showing as pre production. Is there and OTA update or am I going to have to go into the dealer?I have the same and yes you do get the message on each screen while running AAuto
Regardless of app.

It also apparently comes from something on the phone that checks the hardware setup.
Should be easily fixable with an update and a signed driver update on the headunit
I think it will have to be a dealer visit.Has this been sorted yet? Mine is till showing as pre production. Is there and OTA update or am I going to have to go into the dealer?
Would someone like Miles from Chorley Group be able to provide this information as part of his appearance on the Podcast **If someone can provide definitive real time information it would be a good subject for a sticky thread.
Every Monday? I thought the podcast was just once a month - last Monday of the month?Would someone like Miles from Chorley Group be able to provide this information as part of his appearance on the Podcast every Monday?
This and bear in mind Miles is a dealer, not an MG rep and he contributes here on his own time.Every Monday? I thought the podcast was just once a month - last Monday of the month?
If you do an OTA update and brick your car then you've got a problem and the blame game starts with did you do it correctly, was your internet connection disrupted etc. If the dealer does it then it's their problem and they can get support from MG.no OTA updates are crazy, why load up the dealer doing these unless they plan to charge for them
Yes, until MGs software is as good as Teslas, I don’t want to do updates on my own car, would be nerve wracking! If you do an OTA update and brick your car then you've got a problem and the blame game starts with did you do it correctly, was your internet connection disrupted etc. If the dealer does it then it's their problem and they can get support from MG.
There is one user on here who has a bricked car stuck on the ramps at their dealer because something went wrong with an update.
Software updates have been using a hash to verify the integrity of the file. If anything is modified or missing a new hash is given and the update is not applied. This has been the case for years. If you do an OTA update and brick your car then you've got a problem and the blame game starts with did you do it correctly, was your internet connection disrupted etc. If the dealer does it then it's their problem and they can get support from MG.
