if it does it again, use your phone and video whats happening because it unlikely that you'll ever be able to recreate the fault for the dealer and the will play ignorance on this because how can they find a fault that isn't happening for them,I’m running my battery down to 40% over the weekend and if the speed restriction comes back I’m going straight for rejection.
I’m not giving them the chance to fix it.
TBH I’m already looking at replacement cars, which will unfortunately most likely be ICE for a while at least, so in football terms my 4 has ‘lost the dressing room’

Plus if you ever need to fight for you money back in court, all the evidence of a car that's not fit for purpose will be useful
Just been a post on Facebook complaining that their new MG4 went into restricted speed mode after 25 miles.
Someone replied that the dealer should have followed the guidance in AA-22-TB053 (12th Oct Aftersales Bulletin).
Do you think it possible it was powered up at the dealers whilst the software was updated with heater on and door open using up a chunk of charge?I arrived at work today after driving 22 gentle miles from my last charge and its already down to 67% battery!
I guess its going back to MG again for an ultimatum visit! Make this a useable daily driven car or take it back and refund me!!
Was the battery pre-heated? Was this at the beginning, middle or end of the journey?I've had a loss of oomph for the first time tonight.Ive had the car for about 6 weeks.
Battery at around 27% 25 miles driven .Foot down at about 40mph . Next to no acceleration ,sort of limped up to about 50.No Limiter on .No sign recognition on. No cruise.
I've let the battery go below this before and not had a problem although this is the first time this low at sub zero temperatures.
I changed the driving mode from normal to eco and it seemed to clear it .But I'll give it another go tomorrow.
I must admit I'm a bit concerned ?
Permanent state for meThe loss of oomph and limpness comes to us all at times…. ? sorry hic…
Battery not preheated .I've never preheat. Was the battery pre-heated? Was this at the beginning, middle or end of the journey?
Is this an SR or LR? If SR, when was the last time you did a 100% charge?Battery not preheated .I've never preheat.
As I said id driven 25 miles
Hmmm.. if clicking the mode helps, suggests this is software enforced. The car thinks it needs to back off power. Any chance you'd overheated the motor?Had this on the M1 yesterday after a 200 mile trip
Had 12% left in battery. Car dropped to about 50mph and had to struggle up the slip road. No power in the accelerator. Power limited to about 25%
I clicked it from eco to normal and power returned for a few seconds the. Fell away again
Stopped at roundabout at top of slip and on pulling away was back to normal
Been down to below 5% before and not had this sudden and unwarned restriction
