MG ZS EV upgrade

I checked with my dealer. What I gathered...
1. The battery and drivetrain are exactly the same. The extra range one can expect is around 15-20% (so we are getting 270km now, this will be ~320km, both in the real world), and this comes exclusively with a better battery management software (BMS). This can potentially come to the existing models as well.
2. The current tyres 215/50 R17 gets an upgrade. Now it is 215/55 R17. This is what contributed mostly to the increase in ground clearance. Therefore, potentially existing owners can go for the new tyres and get better ground clearance (by ~10mm). This might also contribute to the range increase (although I am not too sure about that).
3. Ecotree challenge will also find it's way to the existing customers. It is just an app upgrade.
4. The head unit is getting a real upgrade, it will now support Hindi language. But I do not speak or use Hindi anyway.
There is not going to be any price differential. The car is essentially the same. So I am happy for now... seeing any real upgrade within 3 months of purchase would have made me very very sad... :D

All in all.....it seems to be more of a "damp Squib" than an upgrade to me.

I shall continue to look at second-hand Tesla's .......there are some nice ones around the £30K mark....and of course several other new cars about to be launched.

Why MG don't simply make a bigger/better battery pack.....perhaps with a hump in it and utilise some of the unused space (Where the fuel tank was) ...I just can't understand.....I love the rest of the car.......just not quite enough range, especially in cold weather!

MG is not really claiming this to be an upgrade. This is just a "refresh" according to them. Practically nothing has changed. Mostly software bits. The real upgrade should come by the end of this year or early next year; 500km+ range (larger battery pack), better drive train etc.
