Great news this morning, my new range high has gone from 174 miles at start after charge to 178 miles (without new update). I use the car for work mainly daily in ECO mode and I do drive steady, but after a granny charge 3kwh last night for a top up this morning this was the highest amount shown to date. When I first got the car I averaged 168, but slowly it has increased..
Does anyone know why this maybe?

I too have found that when charging via the granny charger (the only way I charge my Ioniq these days), that I get a few miles more on the GOM. Which is not necessarily a good thing because you don't want to be charging it to 100% if you don't have to (it's not good for battery health).
I think maybe it's because it is trickling slower and so the battery management system might be allowing the charge through in smaller increments? Does that sound plausible? Total uneducated guess.

There is logic to that assumption. As the ambient temperature of a battery increases, so does it's voltage, so a warmer battery will hit a given voltage sooner than a cold one when charging. Charging quickly will generate some heat, whereas granny charging is so low, heat generation will be very trivial, so a BMS using end voltage to turn off charging will allow more in to the battery before a given voltage is achieved. This theory may not entirely work if the BMS is also using sophisticated temperature measurement to compensate!

I agree with both and I do only charge to maximum if the car is being used first thing, weekends I don’t and keep it between 50 and 80%
