Thinking of buying mg5

Having driven a Leaf 40 as a taxi, the MG5 is in another league. You will get around 140 miles in the very worst conditions (vs about 100 in the leaf) but well over 200 in the summer around the city. Fuel savings and tax breaks make it an ideal taxi.

I have been a taxi driver in the past and have always used estate cars...VW Passats, Citreon C5's etc. The MG 5 is smaller than them, the passenger space is as big as a Passats but the boot space is smaller with a big lip that wont help you in airport runs. Sooooo much cheaper to run but you will need to work out where all your local reliable rapid chargers are. Good place to have a coffee and a read while waiting for a hire. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it over any ICE car and cant think of a better EV to do the job.

Do you own an MG5 at the moment and if so how long have you owned it and how many miles covered.

Are they reliable? And how about build quality.

Only had mine for less than a month and nothing wrong so far. Less to go wrong in an EV than a ICE car and 7 yr warranty helps but there are exceptions to the warranty but so fa so good

Build quality wise...it is full of cheaper plastic and thinner metal but seems solid enough. Might rust sooner than my previous car which was a Golf GTD estate but you get what you pay for and any other EV is a lot more expensive. Just on diesel you will save £1000's a year alone

Yes, I own one (but not as a taxi). We've only had it since Christmas so around 1200 miles on the clock. It's really good. Build quality is fine. No reliability issues so far.
