Adding to the FUD?Apparently BYD = Buy Your Disaster
What’s FUD ?Adding to the FUD?
Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt. Often used by Big Oil and friends to discredit EVs, making people doubt their safety, usability, etc. There is sadly a lot of it about. What’s FUD
And given BYD assemble half of all Apple's iPads and also assemble Tesla batteries... I do find random YouTube channels as sources of information... iffy at the least.Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt. With change: First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident. I think we're moving to stage two.
Roger Dee is a term used to say received and understood.Forgive me, but who is Roger Dee? I have my doubts that you can get an LFP battery to do that on purpose, let alone it happening by accident.
Blade refers to the design of the cells - eg Cylindrical, like Tesla, or Blade or Pouch etc...Roger Dee is a term used to say received and understood.
The batteries BYD use are blade.
I don’t think MG4 use Blade unless Blade and LFP are one and the same.
Each to their own- if you want a BYD buy one
If you want a Funky Cat - Buy one
If you don’t - don’t
Rocket science it ain’t.
I had a choice of all three inc Mg4.
Did my research and picked the MG4. I’ve watched too many videos of customers being absolutely angry and heartbroken about their BYDs and Cats.
Scaremongering perhaps but who knows.

Also remember that EV fires includes e bikes and e scooters., there is no electric car only data.I guess some context would be handy and comparisons with other vehicles fires

Vehicle Fires Every year in the UK, over 100,000 cars which equates to nearly 300 a day go up in flames and around 100 people die as a result. Around 65% of these fires are started deliberately to cover criminal activity, to makewww.fireservice.co.uk

Without knowing the individual circumstances for each event there are still more ICE car fires than EV car fires (but this could just be down to the numbers of vehicles on the roads and the fact there are more older ICE vehicles around).

It is worth saying that recalls due to design faults are potential fire risks, not actual - usually there's a tiny number of actual fires before the recall (sometimes zero as manufacturers really don't want a reputation for fires).I guess some context would be handy and comparisons with other vehicles fires
