Couldn't fit it in the garage... or anywhere else for that matter. The Kia Soul had so much more available storage space than the MG (incl. spare wheel) that I've now got a load of stuff and nowhere to put it (incl. spare wheel). As the innkeeper said to Joseph "we is full". Most of this weekend will be spent trying to find the space between space to put it all in ..... and maybe a ride out to Healey's cider farm to top up on some locally discounted mulled cider. ??

The deed is done. Oh my, what a lovely machine this is. Quick (operative word) 10 mile spin up and down a 5 mile stretch of the A30 and even managed to get it in the garage, tetris stylee, before the huge downpour. Fun weekend ahead

Been and had a play.
Android auto plug and played, no problem. Used new Anker USB-A - C cable., plugged it in, leapt into life.
Loaded MG i SMART app. Scanned QR code on bind screen. Worked first go - oh, this looks like fun. Also got digital key facility which I didn't think the SE had... but it does. Left key in house, tried phone (digital key) all good ? . Not sure I'd try it on a 500 mile round trip though, leaving the keys at home.
Set charging schedule for 2330-0530 on car and requested 10% from Octopus by 0530. Plugged in and all currently waiting. May even have to stay up til midnight to see if it happens....
So far, so good ??

It's on the certificate of conformity which is usually in the glovebox. The date is in the American format i.e. month/day/year.

Yup. Mine's uk date format.

Charging didn't work so think I'll have to delete the Octopus config and start again, testing the combination (Wallbox max/MG4) and take it from there.
Here's an interesting thought. The previous pic of the car in my teenyweeny garage shows just what a tight fit it is. Obviously the proximity sensors are going ape when I'm reversing in. What are the chances of one of the 'assists' wrenching the steering clean out of my hands and crashing into the garage door frame whilst trying to avoid the side of the house ?
If I'm manoeuvring in and out of the garage on a daily basis, will the car have the auto equivalent of a full on mental breakdown within a week or two? ?
Does the algorithm recognise a close fitting garage ? ?

I'm expecting at least a serious case of car paranoia ( the walls are closing in on me, all sides etc.)

The sensors only warn at low speed otherwise you would never be able to park in a car park, and unless you are going in and out of your garage above 37mph LKA won't be active.

My garage doors are a tight fit and I'm parking close to the wall on my left. I also use the reversing sensors to stop the car with just enough room to walk behind it (to plug in the granny cable). Yes the beeps go mad as I pass through the doors but the car always behaves.

Fortunately it's a double garage inside so I have plenty room to get out of the car!
