MG4 mud flaps

Top Trumps Price update £12.06p
£14.47 (inc postage)

My front nearside one is a risk of imminent failure.

Went on Amazon and there are some quite astonishing prices to be found.

Truth be told I would pay more if I thought it might last longer than six months!

The other three are fine.

Been ploughing through some massive near side puddles at speed which couldn’t have helped!

My NS rear one split a few weeks ago, over enthusiastic jet wash I suspect, so I stuck it back together with black duct tape. I got another set off Ali Express (£16), going to replace both rears when it gets warmer.

Edit: done the split one today while it was 15 deg C. I think I'll leave the other one until my back gets better.

I still win, I had 6 mudflaps delivered in the end for £12.06(inc).
The left side does look a bit weird with two sets attached though.

I got a set from AliExpress with mg badges on. However the badges aren't retro beige/red as per ad but black/silver ( ok, match hub caps) and see if you can see the problem...

Yup, bad moulding. The other 3 were fine but that fourth. It's rear off-side as well so every time I walking back to the car I see it. Finishes about half an inch proud of the bodywork.
I'm currently in ' negotiations '. - $4 refund or replacement piece. They've acknowledged the part is faulty. I feel a bit bad at asking for the part but it's what I paid for, albeit a pittance.
I've used AliExpress a lot over the last couple of years, never had a problem before. One of those things I guess.

I know what you mean. I'd ask for a replacement as its not going to cost them that much and make a note to buy something else from that seller in the future.
Just had this response from me querying progress. Can't say they aren't trying , bless 'em.

I can see me ending up with half a dozen sets ???

I know this is an old thread now, but I'm looking for some mud flaps and noticed in the video in this thread how long the rear flaps are. They look too close to the ground to me. I think many on AliExpress are pretty much identical. Has anybody found any that are shorter by any chance?

Thanks,

D

You could be right about the length. My off-side rear one cracked when it fouled a kerb I drove over.

Which brings me to my point, does anyone involved in all these replacement shenanigans have a spare righ-thand mud flap going cheap?

How cheap do you want them? There's a full set on AliExpress for £4.71

Gotta say that would do my head in also.
At least they are sorting it. ??
....aaaaand hear we are, 6 months later and they didn't. Claimed it was sent, gave me some dodgy tracking number that didn't work with anything and went radio silent on me . Fair enough to be fair.
Anyway, learnt to live with it ?
I know - could always buy another set ?.

They’re not much longer than the rear lower valance- I posted the fitting video and this photo was taken this morning after 22,000 miles on the car, not had any sort of grounding issues even when scrabbling across fields and rough tracks to get to wild camping sites.
