CCS is the charging standard. It's just means they fixed the problem with CCS rapid charging, presumably because they weren't coping with how Tesla were working within that standard.Ok, Just a quick update. I took my Gen2 in and had the update, I believe they called it the CCS update. It's important that it's an update, updates are free, free from MG UK. As opposed to an upGRADE which you pay for.
Anyway, had it done, it was free, and it works now on Superchargers.
While I was there I took a Tesla model 3 for a test........ I might be leaving.........
Just asking the question here, but was it definitely a 'public' supercharger? That's the message we used to get when it wasn't an open one.So, annoyingly, having had the “update” done to my car last week I just tried to charge at a Tesla supercharger and guess what, “unauthorised car”. So annoyed.
Yes, Langstone Technology Part, Havant, Portsmouth. “This Supercharger is Open to Tesla and Other EVs with CCS compatibility”Just asking the question here, but was it definitely a 'public' supercharger? That's the message we used to get when it wasn't an open one.
:-/ it seems hard to believe they could/would blanket restrict a brand/model of car after they had been working well.Yes, Langstone Technology Part, Havant, Portsmouth. “This Supercharger is Open to Tesla and Other EVs with CCS compatibility”
Right, so I called Tesla support on 01628450660 and was told Tesla have blocked all MGs, with the exception of the MG4, from charging at their superchargers. No idea if the support person was misinformed or if there is actually a block, but from this it would seem it was a complete waste of time getting the update.
must be due to too many MG drivers fidgeting with chargers to check whether their cars charge or not and inconveniencing Tesla drivers ... ?:-/ it seems hard to believe they could/would blanket restrict a brand/model of car after they had been working well.
I don’t believe it impacts their chargers at all and it would be silly to pass up on income.
It’s baffling. Before the update when I tried to charge at Tesla it just didn’t recognise a car being there, post update it gives the error message on the app “Unauthorised vehicle Your vehicle is not able to charge at Superchargers at this time”. It would be great if anyone who can currently charge their ZS EV at a Tesla supercharger could chip in. For public charging the price difference is immense.:-/ it seems hard to believe they could/would blanket restrict a brand/model of car after they had been working well.

We need to stop talking about updates.Anyone in West Susses/Surrey had the update done? All the dealers tell me they don't think an update exists.
Yes.With all the comments on here about MG ZS issues with Tesla, has anyone successfully charged their Mk 2 ZS EV at an open to all supercharger? I'm asking for the Holidays down to the New Forrest so I can avoid all the high priced rip-off CPOs.
Yes, successful Tesla open charges across the UK for me too. Apart from once at Wokingham because the site was completely flooded! :-o (image from ZapMap but was just the same)With all the comments on here about MG ZS issues with Tesla, has anyone successfully charged their Mk 2 ZS EV at an open to all supercharger?
