Collected an MG 4 Luxury (Trophy LR) the other day. Haven't made any long trips or driven it too much just yet, but this far I'm very pleased with it! No issues, bugs or the like that many others have experienced (touch wood).
However, the car is using the R40 software. Before my purchase I got the dealer in writing tell me that all software will be the latest on delivery, which obviously didn't happen... After some back and forth he agreed to book me in at the workshop and personally make sure to perform the updates, however – according to him most updates are to fix specific flaws in some cars and doesn't recommend doing them unless there are known issues, as some of the updates may introduce new issues.
Is there really any truth to this? Are there known issues between R40 and R46 for example that suggests that I should hold of? I've tried to inform myself via the "MG4 Software Update Thread", but it seems to have derailed into all kinds of subject matters.
