New 12.3" infotainment in Thailand

More like off topic, better have a separate thread on MG4 gearing and keep this one related to the larger screen.

Isn't top speed 160 km/h for 51 kWh and 200 km/h for the others? It could be the motor, but that could also be a result of the diff gear ratio

Only the X-Power has a higher top speed (120 or 124 mph, which would square with your 200 kph). The SE SR, SE LR and Trophy LR are all 100 mph, which squares with your 160 kph. Don't know about the ER.

The new larger screen looks great, should appear on all MG4 models soon as it's part of the interior upgrade announced earlier this year to be available from summer.

My eyes are good enough for driving but I can't read the size of some of the text on the present screen so unless the larger screen has a different font size I don't see (pun) the point. I'll most likely wait for the braille version on the self driving versions. I have varifocals which work to an extent but end up like one of those noddy rear shelf dogs from the 70s/80s.
I've told my wife that the Thais have 12 inchers whilst we only have 10s , after snorting at me and saying dream on, we are now off for a green curry at a local authentic restaurant . Wonder what brought that on? o_O

Same here. Bifocals have sorted it for me. As long as you can bend the bits of wire on the nose pads to adjust the height they should work fine.

I tested it by using an old pair of readers with a weaker prescription to get the strength required for the screens, then got a £15 pair of off the shelf bifocals from the Internet and adjusted the height so the boundary is on the top of the dashboard.

That all worked pretty well, so I now have a prescription pair which live in the car and the others kick around in the glove box as a spare set. The optician needs to know the eye to screen distance.

My eyesight was deteriorating alarmingly from 2020 to 2022. It had got to the point that although I could read a number plate at 25 metres (with the right glasses, but frankly as soon as I got new glasses it all started to go pear-shaped again) I'm not sure I was really safe to drive, especially at night.

In June 2022 I had cataract surgery and my eyesight is pretty much perfect again, for distance vision. I need reading glasses, and prefer to wear varifocals with an almost plain upper section to save always having to put on glasses to read, but in the car I can read the screens perfectly with the varifocals on, and with no glasses at all I can actually read what's there, although it's slightly out of focus.

Let's hear it for modern medicine.

MGTitan sent me the wrong size screen protector for my Aussie MG4 Essence 64. They coughed up the right size one quick enough. Which leaves me with a 12.3 inch spare. If anyone wants it, let me know, although the postage is probably prohibitive ?
