Powering devices from the MG4 battery

As above, ours went over 3kW without an issue, theoretically 3.75kW? It was switching to ~5kW that tripped it. Given the strange way (frigging resistor value) you can alter the max kW it seems the MG4 has a strange way of checking the load and applying its max load? Suggest try your 3kW kettle... worst seems it trips off.

So, I'm guessing our 3kw kettle ( playing it safe) is a no-no ? Time to invest in 2kw ?
I've used it a few times when camping with no issues. I think my kettle is 3.1kW I'm pretty sure I've even used the kettle while the George Forman was on. I got the very basic plug socket adaptor from AliExpress for about €50 although I have seen it cheaper since. I've seen the car say it's discharging at 3.3kW with no issues. It didn't even get warm the few times I checked.

Editing to add, this is the one I got. Down to €25 now. It says it's 16A in the description and 32A in the picture so I don't know which, not planning on testing it that way either. Meets what I found... I got the V2L and Type 2 plug from UKEV Shop which was quick and cheap - £15 for the adapter, albeit £5 shipping becomes a factor if you are only getting one item.

What happens (if you know) if it's over 2.3kW? Just wimps out? Big blue flash?
It just trips out if you try to pull to much then after a short delay trips back on, my home system is set to pull no more than 1500 watts so not an issue for me. It's a great feature and part of the reason I purchased the car.

I used our regular home kettle via the cheap adapter when we were having electrical work done (along with router).

I think it might have just run the kettle using less power than usual because it seemed to take longer to boil.

Certainly worked!
