It's a constant hassle with a dog, so I'd rather leave her in the car and leave the A/C on, but that means you have to leave the doors unlocked which is not a good idea, even for ten minutes. Is there any way around this?

No.
Once you lock it, it all goes off as you know.

That's why a dedicated Start/Stop button would have been a massive help.

I used to regularly leave my dog in the car whilst nipping out to the shops etc when it was warm.

You could leave the AC running, then just lock it on the fob no problems.

I think the best we can do with our cars is crack all four windows a couple of inches.

But as you are very well aware, 10 minutes would be the absolute maximum I would want to leave my pooch if it was warm, and even then I would be berating myself!

I have looked at this from the point of view of car-camping, i.e. staying in the car, so not comparable to your issue.
Still, play around with power down the car from the infotaiment, then switching on the A/C, then leaving and locking the car. I don't know if it works, but give it a try

I have no knowledge of the 4 so forgive me, but can you turn the A/C on through the App?

Bingo!!

Yes you can. I'd completely forgotten about that.

Would be ideal and gives you the 10 minute window you were looking for.

You might need to disable the interior sensors for the duration also.

Well done @gus ?

If in doubt, check the manual ?
(lesson learnt the hard way ?)

Ive got a lovely hard copy of the manual and still cant be arsed to read it!

Just another example of SAIC's cost cutting along with the front parking sensors and rear interior light which in my opinion was a mistake.

Did something about it mind you, but still, its the first car I have ever owned where I couldn't see in the back when it was dark!

Along with other folk on here it was months before I realised there were no front parking sensors!

EDIT: I have read it and it now lives in the Glovebox!

You can actually extend the time by first making sure the car is cool when you switch off then say 5 minutes later switch the AC on with the app, it will run for 10 minutes. Then 5 minutes later switch the AC on again with the app and again it will run for 10 minutes, so all in all you've had 30 minutes of cool.
The car will only allow you switch the AC on with the app two times to save flattening the 12v, you have to start the car up to do it again.

"interior sensors"?
Are MG4 equipped with that?
The basic one isn’t.

Mine only allows one go of the Aircon via the app.

Also for leaving the dog in the car. He goes everywhere with us

You can put it on with your phone I think and keep the car locked on the mg app thanks D

Use the 360 cameras and touch the front when forward parking, but it should be automatic

Take her with you? Is that not why you have her, maybe not.....

That's if you can get it to bind. I just can't, no matter what, and the @support is non existent.

Should have got a tesla. I'm trying to get rid of my trophy. Absolutely shocking car.

On my zs the AC doesn't turn on via the app when %Batt is low, but not very low 30-40% I think.

You could leave the windows ajar, like most dog-owners seem to? If it’s too hot, then maybe…er… don’t leave the dog in the car? But I realise this is your decision, and none of my business (except you asked the question)

Can you share with us how shocking the car is? I’d love to know why I am so wrong…

Fault after fault. Been to dealer at least 3 times, with no joy on a fix. Doors not unlocking. Windows not going up. 'EP' message where is shoukd be D, N or R when selecting drive. Yellow lights on start up. Latest excuse is that MG know about it, but they are dealing with all the other issues.
Now speaking to lease company to get rid. It's cheap for a reason IMO.
