MG have to do a recall once a solid firmware is released. Do we have to wait for someone to get killed?
So not sure how this compares, to EU numbers? Not sure of firmware but possibly not EU I think our Australian Branch may do their own thing.
I'll try and remember to check in the morning
First impression? Old. Your MG needs a refreshment. So not sure how this compares, to EU numbers?

You can't determine that precisely ... AU/NZ software numbering is different to what we have over here.First impression? Old. Your MG needs a refreshment.
But you need to go to the hidden menu for details.
That's why I said first impression and asked for going into the hidden menu. However, they added opd to the Excite, as well as an ACC and AEB update. You can't determine that precisely ... AU/NZ software numbering is different to what we have over here.
It would be better for AU/NZ forum members to respond re. local software version numbers.![]()
And then I realized this isn't working on the SE...aarghh. Sorry for the confusion Decrep. So how do I get into the hidden menu
#*#4479*#*
No worries, but I haven't tried ACC yet, I'll do so tomorrow. And then I realized this isn't working on the SE...aarghh. Sorry for the confusion Decrep.
But if with acc on your car is no longer dropping the speed, you got that update.
Thanks Siteguru,With the UK/EU Infotainment software you can access the Engineer menu in the SE (Excite) cars by typing the following code into the car's telephone keypad:
Code:#*#4479*#*
Maybe give that a try?
They are related to other firmware for systems like lka, BT etc.Ok I'm in version is still saying R05, but there's a lot of other numbers here, are they significant?
If you activate ACC you can increase the distance to reduce speed earlier with the left-right arrow button. If it is on the shortest distance (=latest update), there are two clicks more. Also tried ACC briefly, and don't like it. It started to slow down too late and too suddenly.
I would slow down earlier and smoother.
Mike, hide your VIN or at least partially mask it. It's the ID of your car. Thanks again NLMGSAN, yes I was in OPD mode, so that would explain the jerky slowdown. I'll have another experiment.
Here's the version pics.

Hope this helps to determine what's going on.
Cheers,

OK I've deleted that pic, I'll repost it without the VIN.Mike, hide your VIN or at least partially mask it. It's the ID of your car.
Next step is to ask for other SE owners in NZ/AU to do the same so we can compare.
On the French forum they started collection this data, including updates after a service. Ideally, you could link it to complaints of owners and then see if certain changes actually lead to improvements.
Yes, The MG4 in Australia sub forum would be the best spot indeed.OK I've deleted that pic, I'll repost it without the VIN.
I guess I should start a new thread in the Australian MG4 forum
I have had the same experienceI have had my MG4 EV for approximately 4 weeks (2,000 miles and counting!) and my lane assist is most definitely trying to kill me!
Leaving it in emergency lane assist is asking for an accident, the car reacts so violently that you can quite easily end up in a different lane, or off the road entirely.
The lane keep assist is not much better, the sensitivity of the movement the car makes is not as violent, but it has been known to start to wander into a different lane.
In my meagre opinion MG need to recall and programme (or send an update) to tone down the sharpness of the emergency lane assist!!
