Hi Folks,
Last couple of months my SOC is showing health mode between 40%-80% rather than 20%-80%.
Bought the car new (MG 4 exclusive/trophy) new Mid march this year.
Anyone else see this happen? Or am I missing something?
Thanks
David

Not related to the poor range estimate. That was after a long motorway drive at 115kmph speed. Was 500km at 100% charge

Could you pls explain more of what the problem is?
Where do you see this?
What is the impact?
I was thinking the same!

@David1978 , are we worried about SOC or SOH ? (if its a charge to % , then you can change this on the display - green slider on car or app? )

No problem with range and efficiency seems fine. Though efficiency goes to 16/17/18/19 after a few mins driving and takes another few mins to settle down.

Small concern about SOH.

I had terrible problems with schedule charging since I got the car (fixed at mg dealership a couple of weeks ago). I was thinking lack of equalisation over 4 months maybe caused the SOC health mode change from 20% to 40%.
I'll drop an email to my dealer on Tuesday, chap is very obliging. Just curious as to why and if anyone else experienced something similar?

No concern at all about SOC

Noted - I suspect your SOH will be perfect, personally never used the MG4 to run the charging of the car, always let the charger be in control.
I have to set the schedule only from car. So grateful it's working fine now

From the picture I don’t see where the ‘health mode’ issue you mention is: you say something changed from 20 to 40?
The health mode used to indicate on the slider 20% - 80% but it's changed to 40%-80%. Hard to see in the pic, but that's my query

are you sure it used to be ‘20%’?
Because every single charging page I see on the internet is 40 to 80
Well then I'm hoping I'm a total dumbass because I did wonder was it always set at 40% and I convinced myself, health mode was 20-80
On the mention of dumbass, when sorting my schedule issue. Engineer got in my car and laughed his ass off because the car said to him "hey dumbass, turn off lane keep assist" he upgraded the software without any begging. Lol

There seem to be some confusions here:

- SOC = State Of Charge, ie the current percentage level of the HIgh Voltage battery, as displayed either on the driver's screen or the battery/charging infotainment view. This obviously varies between 0-100% depending on how you use or charge the car.

- SOH = State Of Health, ie the condition of the HV battery pack. This is not readable in the car displays and requires a dealer visit to measure (or other diagnostic equipment). This should be close to 100% for a LR car, 95% is normal for SR and will slowly drop over years as the car ages, and the battery capacity reduces a but.

- Battery Health Mode = the maximum % the car will charge up to, for LR cars the recommendation is to stay between 10-80% (sometimes 20-80% is given) for best long term battery life, using 80-100% SOC for longer trips only, plus once a month to help the battery calibrate. BHM is irrelevant for SR cars as they can always be charged to 100%.

If your battery is NMC does it show 20-80 or 40-80 health mode?

@David1978 could you share the version of your car system ?
because for me this % limiter does not appear in the car infotainment, only in the app with the schedule charge, but it does not respect and every charge at 100% if i do not stop before.
