Those versions all relate to the apps installed on the headunit and tbox (the 4g modem and Bluetooth module). Those get updated as part of the Android updates we already know about.

You won't get details like the ABS / Charge controller / Battery management computer versions from there.

The Essence has a different engineering menu style, but I believe the same details are visible in there under the Product Info menu.

Had a funeral to go to in Freo.
On the way there at the BP Baldivis service station, there's now 3 BPpulse 75kW chargers. The ones on the Northbound lanes are active, but we didn't have time to stop, the freeway was very slow.
On the way back we tried the Southbound ones, with no luck, they are fenced off.

This will be great, for a quick charge and coffee on Perth trips.

Can't find any info on pricing, or if they'll work on a chargefox card.

Anybody with BP Pulse experience?

The latest Australian MG4 Essence & Xpower software update finally adds an EV Route Planner and nearest EV charger feature :) watch me intro the new features on my MG4 77

Been doing a bit of V2L to the home battery this afternoon.

Weather is pretty crummy and we are on flood watch. No concern for our home as we are up on a hill but always a chance of power outages in the area so I do like to have the home battery topped up.

With the free grid power window of 12-2PM I figured I may as well charge the car up and then dump it into the home battery. The home battery also charges from the grid during the free grid energy period but it doesn't charge as fast as the car can* and so does not get fully charged on these crummy solar days.

I'm using a long 15 A extension cable (2.5mm² wire) and a 10A to 15A adapter with an inbuilt RCBO / 10 A circuit breaker plugged into the V2L adapter. Car is in the garage, my home battery charger is at other end of the house.

Only putting ~1 kW into the home battery, it's only meant to be a trickle charge. It can pretty much stay on all night, a nice steady doddle for the V2L.

The house cut over to run from battery power at 5PM, so some of the home's power is being supplied by the car. Later in the evening when the demand falls it will top the home battery back up.

* it can be charged at a faster rate but I choose to limit charging of the home battery to ~3.6 kW for load management reasons. In my case that's a charge rate of ~0.2C.

Ended up running it all night.

At the start, just after 2PM our off-grid home battery was at 78% SOC (59% is my low charge cut off as below that is my reserve capacity of lead acid).

At ~9:45PM I dropped the home battery charge rate down from 20 A to 10 A, so ~500 W. Home battery SOC was sitting between 81-82%.

Stopped the V2L the next morning at 6:45 AM. Home battery SOC was 80%.

Drew 16.9 kWh from the MG4. Most of it was consumed by the house (and conversion losses).

Queensland’s EV slush fund is nearly done!

It started at 45M and there’s under 3M left. My local MG dealer said it would last until the end of the year. I don’t think so ? According to local TV advertising, paid for by fossil fuel mining companies ?

And as nearly as I can tell, there is no way to find out how much is left, apart from these monthly updates. And the next monthly update is likely to say zero!

So now we have to do all the paperwork, and only find out two weeks later whether or not we made the cut. If the rebate makes a significant difference to your decision to buy or not, you have no certainty now.

I wouldn't worry to much about the rebate, with the onslaught of new Chinese EV's coming to our shores in the next 12 months I am sure we will see more price cuts from MG et al. Anyways I am looking to buy my 77 by May next year and I won't mind getting a near new second hand for maybe $10k off the original retail price by then circa AU$40k.

Will be interesting to see how well this works in the real world.

Hopefully it shouldn't be too hard to convince them to install this update considering it was a promised feature from day 1.

I've put in a bid (that has gone to referral) for an MG4 with built date June 2023 and a tag to say Pickles received 23/4/24, 4,800 on the clock. It is a repairable wite off and I have the required parts on my Stat Write off to fix it ... rear ender, bumper and bumper support and a slight roll of the rear hatch lower lip.
If I get it, will it still get the updates and still be covered by the whole servicing and warranty agreement the original purchaser had?

T1 Terry

I would say after repairing the vehicle and probably insurance company would require an inspection to say it is near new condition and they insured it why would MG not carry on the warranty no reason to say no.
Damaged seconds white goods get factory warranty.
