Seat covers

I put a bunch of photos of my seat covers in another thread. Not going to re-post them here, but here's the link to the post.

Thats my own thread. Cool looking seat covers. Definitely AliExpress is sharing good stuff for us mg4 owners.

When I got the car I thought, this thing could last a long time, considering what I know about batteries and motors. I don't want the rest of the car getting too tatty, I wish there were decent seat covers available. Then someone in the forum posted about fitting them and linked to AliExpress, and I couldn't believe my luck.

"considering what I know about batteries and motors"

Do you forsee these NMC cars last longer than ordinary petrol cars?

I still think about these machines are very different...

The other day i stuck my nose throught the engine bay holes - trying to see whats below and inside...

And damn this car looks empty. Compared to petrol engines full of stuff and parts and grease and cables... Etc

And yet... they are not that lightweight (guess the battery is heavy) at least these are 50-50 distributed

Figures at the moment show EVs (other than first generation Nissan Leafs) being about even with ICE cars for durability after ten years. However these data come from cars made ten years ago. New cars now will be better I think. An order of magnitude fewer moving parts to go wrong. Compared to an EV, an ICE looks like a nightmare of complications and work-rounds and inefficiencies.

Motors likely to last 800,000 miles and no big deal to replace anyway. Batteries looking good for 300,000 to 400,000 miles. Software capable of being updated to improve the car beyond what it was when it was new.

Better think about rust protection.

(You're right, the batteries are heavy and that's maybe half the weight of the car. There isn't a lot more.)

Did you see the Tesla taxi post?

430000 miles on the clock with the battery SOH still at 70%+

The last video (which is the only one I watched) is the most informative on the actual condition of the vehicle.

Just shows that all the concern about battery and vehicle life is blown right out of the water.

But that is a Tesla.

I suppose we will have to wait many years to see how the SAIC product stacks up.

Thread '430k miles Tesla Taxi' 430k miles Tesla Taxi

I did see that. I also saw a video from an Australian guy who had somehow managed to do 666,666 km on his Tesla in only five years. (Again, about 430,000 miles.) The battery then threw a fault code. He was under an 8-year unlimited mileage warranty. At first they were going to give him a refurbished battery, but he mentioned that a new improved battery was available for the model. Tesla said oh what the hell, and just gave him one for free under warranty.

I'd be surprised if the SAIC batteries we're getting now are worse than Tesla batteries from five years ago. Especially the LFP ones.

Hi I am looking for neoprene seat covers , as I get in my car still in wet suit and dry driving home I bought some from Supercheap Auto but super cheap they are.
Was thinking of getting these just to protect seats. Do they still let the heat from the heated seats through?
