Poll: Why did you go electric?

What is your primary motivation for going electric?

A mobile home is a static caravan on a site, stupidly named I agree.

And I'm tired of you twisting what I say every time I say something you don't like.

I was always confused about the difference, that's helpful to know. So are you talking about static caravans on residential sites, or about the things that clog up the North Coast 500? What's the difference between a campervan and a motorhome?

@Big Ears said (in post #66) Motorhomes ... you even quoted that post. The first reference to Mobile Homes was your post #80.

Just for clarity ....

I think you both need to step away from this thread for a while.

This is what I'm seeing, and what confused me further.

Mobile home
Motorhome
Campervan

I suppose I can google it.

You mentioned mobile homes when I'd mentioned motorbikes, a vastly different thing, I then informed you a mobile home was a static caravan on site, and badly named.

To go further it is badly named because it is only really mobile on its way from factory to site.

I'd you failed to follow the comment you first made, I can't really do much more than give up, I feel you are determined to.make a big thing of anything I say to create agrovation, I'm 74, I don't need it so please stop misquoting me, calling me names, saying things I have never said which you cannot quote or point to.

I think that as a moderator your behaviour is terrible and had you been on my forum you would be removed.

I think you meant motorhomes above not motorbikes. (Possibly an autocorrect if using a mobile device for typing). :)

I apologise for trying to help you resolve your confusion. ?‍♂️

And I'd appreciate responses which were less threatening, please.

Other.

My wife listened to a podcast about electric cars. She came running out of the house while i was making a fire in the back yard and said "i want to buy an electric car" and i said "okay"

Seriously though, we had had a run of bad luck with cars breaking down, we thought electric might be more reliable and were keen to experiment.

Threatening? A tad hyperbolic, if not thin skinned. We're on the internet don't you know.

But I realise I haven't given my answer to the poll. Mainly environmental, both for CO2 and to avoid being someone adding to local pollution, which can get pretty bad in town when cycling around.

Secondly though, after years of driving cars which have had failing cylinder head gaskets, fuel pumps, clutches etc., I was happy to switch to something which is just so much a better design. I tried out EV driving previously to purchasing through the use of a car club, which had some MG ZSs. So got used to charging etc. The MG4 in hatchback form (which for me is a more enjoyable drive) with longer range was irresistible.

Interesting that last one.

I was tempted to interpret that as value, but is it also the security/convenience of not having to worry about those critical failures?

That could be another one to add if I ever created a poll with more options!
