Driving
Not an MG
I’ve made the decision to change my MG 5 for something higher but with similar boot space etc
Any suggestions ?
Currently driving a 72 plt Excite with 10600 on clock and going for 2 year service in early September

When you say similar boot space do you mean also an estate?

KIAs EV3 out about now is only a little less 460ltr as opposed to 479ltr though the space with the seats down is 1251 v 1367. Pricing is meant to be good and range is excellent.

Or suv type
Then you've got a lot more choice.

Not many EV estates like the MG5, but loads of SUVs out there.

The Stellantis clones are often good prices (e2008?), but maybe not as good as the Kias/Teslas.

Someone has mentioned the Enyak, which is their version of the ID4. Seems the other marques often do better than the VW version if reviewers are to be believed.

Skoda Enyaq.
My Brothers GF son recommended that as he’s just done some evaluation for work on them

Also I’m Lucky as my MG dealer Richmond Portsmouth also does Skoda and Hyundai as well so makes the finance swapping easier
May go to their Fareham Skoda site at the weekend and try the Enyaq for size

If you find something you like don't forget to haggle, especially if going nearly new.... :)

If I was buying now, I would be looking at a modest milage Kia Niro. Prices of second-hand EVs have tumbled and who is to say they won't drop further? I wish I had waited longer before buying my MG5, used by a dealer for six months. The MG5 won on price then, but would not now.

Prices of second-hand EVs have tumbled
While that is definitely true (I try not to think about how much by 72 plate MG5 is worth). I think it gives a bit of a misleading impression. Its not as though the price has tumbled because there is anything wrong with them. The second hand price has just followed the new price in tumbling. I imagine that prices still have some falling to do. EVs have a lot fewer components and so are cheaper to put together. I don't imagine that EV batteries will be expensive forever.

Two weeks ago Auto Trader reported that second-hand EVs have reached near-parity with petrol cars. The average price of a three- to five-year-old EV in July was £18,964, compared with £18,076 for petrol models of the same age. But the prices between electric and petrol / diesel cars with a similar spec other than fuel are not comparable desite EV models bettign cheaper..
