MG4 X Power Vibe/Hum 65 to 75mph

There is a very interesting and very recent post on the German MG Forum concerning our vibration issue.

I wonder if they know about us?
I started posting about the issue Sept 2023!
I haven't done the full 14 pages yet.....

It's August, this is the epitome of the UK Summer, warm weather, holidays abroad, always been seen as the last month of summer, once we get to September...schools go back, nights draw in....soon be Christmas?.

So, where is the fix for us who have the vibration?

MG said it was coming in the summer which is starting to run out. It couldn't be worse for the UK, a vibration at legal driving speed....vibration disappears at illegal driving speed.

My X Power is a little rocket, lovely to drive at 30/40/50....but 60 and above its quite shit for a £36k car.

It was only a quick post to keep things going? but my car will be 1yr old in Oct, if by then there is no fix then I'm going to need to see a solicitor and as we can all do, start to bring it up in the press and media.

The riots may have calmed down by then?
Ah... THAT'S what they are rioting about! Now it all makes sense! ?

Has anyone taken out extra legal cover insurance, whilst mainly to protect yourself against the claims of others, if nothing else could give advice of any claims you could make and their chances of success. maybe worth an ask if you are at the end of your tether,

Luckily I've kept all my emails, most got no reply, Service Manager out of office or apologising that the Service Manager had some medical condition?, maybe he did but we only have 2 arms and he broke 3?
Sales guy was not interested one bit

So, what a curve ball!

The rear driveshaft??

I'm claiming that as a win then.

On October 6th 2023 I said it will be driveshaft related (Albeit I put it down to the fronts for obvious reasons)

Feels like there is some real momentum going on now.
Better late than never.

Without going through all 35 pages does changing the regen to level 1 help? also does regen work from the front motor as well as the rear, my albeit poor theory being that the rear motor is driving you forwards and the front is ( braking ) ie regenerating and not freewheeling . Even if its not regenerating useful energy the rotor spinning in the stator will still create energy which will need to be dissipated , and there will be resistance in that, which could mean that the front wheels want to go slower than the back wheels, the maximum amount of that resistance could be in the 60mph zone resulting in an imbalance which manifests itself as vibration. I guess someone else as already thought of this and its proved incorrect , sorry if I missed that, any way just a theory. :cautious:

And you don't have time to read all 35 pages is why?

?

Honestly, trust me.

We have discussed everything.

Someone thought we should blame it on Area 51! ?

@Bricktop X PWR was right! Driveshafts make sense, although I would think that isn't a cheap change, so how far this gets rolled out is anyone's guess.

A new group has been created on FB, for the vibration, the creator wants as many people as they can to get together to start pushing MG?

I got my car delivered at the beginning of April this year and in all the motorway/dual carriageway driving I've done (which has included a near 500 mile round trip from Bradford to Edinburgh on the A1/A1M), I've never experienced this issue. Am I simply lucky or does it materialise later on?

I think it was mentioned in this very forum that a recent manufacturing change means this problem is gone. I think MG is trying to figure out how to retrofit the ‘solution’

What was the actual manufacture date of the car?

What was the actual manufacture date of the car?
It was ordered February 2024 and it was registered 3rd April 2024. So manufactured between those dates. I have a SAIC factory quality sign off from the factory somewhere so I can probably be more precise with when it left the factory if you need me to be.

There should be a sticker under the parcel shelf, it should has a date on it which is near enough date of manufacture
The sticker doesn't have any.date on mine. But I pulled the factory sign-off out and the manufacture date was 16/11/2023. So I'm assuming they had my car in a lot in China already when my order was placed.
