Cyberster - what we know so far

Update from my dealer today to say that MG have failed to expedite the 'paperwork', and are now hoping to receive demo cars W/C 9th Sept!

This is a long way from the original 'August, and we hope late July'...

Do you know this for sure or are you speculating? Normally a dealer can choose to resell a cancellation if they wish.
I know this, I am the Cyberster specialist for my dealer, all other cars we keep the cancellation but due to the nature of the Cyberster, till we have good availability of stock, once all demo/showroom cars and sold orders are fullfilled, it will be a priority to sort them

Ah, that explains your knowledge on this and other topics! Good to have you here, thanks for contributing.

They still need to confirm

Summon feature for UK
All updates done at pick up
Granny charger and public charger cables
V2L plugin comes with car? Like Thailand
Over the air updates to avoid labour charges
Service plans that come with the car
Safety briefing on emergency for every customer. Door release mechanism on interior and exterior
That first orders will be delivered this month

We currently will not be getting any sort of summon feature,

Updates will be done as part of the pre-delivery inspection

If they are the same as our other ev's then just the granny charger as standard and the type 2 will be a paid accessory

V2L cable is also a paid accessory in the UK and is extremely unlikely to come with any car,

At this moment in time, no over the air updates, howerver they are usually covered by MG and not labour chargeable, depending on what updates are being done,

Service plans are an optional purchase

there is manual door releases inside the car as a manual backup

First orders should be here september, however demo and showroom cars will be delivered first and due at some point after the 9th September

@SunriseJak what accessories did you guys get in Thailand?
The Thai Cybersters came with 2 charge cables. One: a "level 1" charging cable for a household outlet. It has a CCS connector on one end and a 3 prong household plug on the other end with a bulky box in the middle of the cable. It appears to be about 6 meters in length. It comes in a nice laptop-like padded zippered bag with handle. Two: included was the 'V to L' cable. It has a CCS adapter on one end, to connect to the car, and the other end is a standard looking household power strip with 4 "female" household receiver outlets for plugging in appliances. It looks to be about 4 meters in length. It also came in its own (kinda cheap actually), draw-string type nylon sack. Three: Also included is a "level 2" MG branded wall box for home installation. The Thailand Cyberster remote fob has a "find your car" horn symbol where the "summon" feature would be found. Hence we do not get the summon feature. All items were neatly arranged in the Cyberster trunk, oops,,,, boot. :)

You do realise that many Teslas are built in China and have been imported here, along with iPhones and lots of other "high end" products. Just because it is Chinese doesn't mean it is low end.

Yes, likely they would have sold fewer but

SAIC is rapidly transforming itself into a full-range premium maker - the Cyberster was designed in the UK by a European team.
We saw a Dynamic Red Cyberster in the road in Kidderminster on Saturday. They are out there

There are at least a couple on a dealership tour right now.
They're likely being trucked from region to region but as they're road-legal and registered, may be being driven between local dealerships instead.

Awaiting two software updates being done at Portbury according to my dealer.
Unfortunately this is a lie, Working for an MG Dealer myself, I can confirm that the updates we have had from MG is the following:

Despite pushing hard to expedite the documentation necessary to start dispatching stock of Cyberster to dealers as showroom and demo vehicles, it will not be within the timeline first expected,

We cannot realistically say we will be in a position to start releasing vehicles any earlier than at least the week commencing 9th September

If they are road legal and registered why the delay getting certificates of conformity for all the cars stuck at the docks ?
Just a thought…
They'll have had individual SVA's done, similar to when you import a new none UK market car, or build a kit car.
