MY24 annoying signal recognition bug

Hello,

my first post there, not native english speaker, so I hope to get all right.

I'm from a month a proud owner of a Luxury64 MY24, and wile the car is truly awsome on any regard, is plagued by a quite annoying bug: when you start it for the first time speed signals recognition just lock on 50km/h.
I couldn't replicate this glitch on any other situation and the only workaround (over turning ISA off) is to lock the car, waith 30ish seconds and restart it.

Now, on MY24 the intelligent speed assistant is active by default at the start, and being a mandatory safety feature by the new regulation, it automatically get activated at any given car activation.

I was initially thinking about some self calibration error due the car being started in the box, but after leaving it in the open all night long the glitch manifested again.

I tried to contact the customer service to report what I now think being 100% a software related error, and I was politely invited to do that trought a partner dealer.
So I did what I was asked and got ignored with dealer claiming that they had no indication of such an issue from MG.

Anyone else is experiencing a similar glitch? Someone know if there is some official dealer / MG person around that can help me to get this mess sorted?

Software version is SWI133...1300R30.

Being EVs computers on wheels, shouldn't be so convoluted to report software bugs, the whole way updates and fixes are managed seems cumbersome and aged.
And that is a bit sad given how good the whole MG4 package is.
I have the same annoying bug. I'm in Portugal, so implementation should be basically the same.
I do the same workaround, After taking the car from the garage, I turn it off by the Infotainment shortcut and then start it again, et voilá - starts reading signs.

Mine went to the "MG service garage" this week, thought I had issues with braking system, it turns out some rat (doubt it was at home, but never know... guess I have a job for the weekend) eat part of the brake liquid sensor wiring. Asked them make any available SW update. Let's see if something new appears.

I found another italian guy with the same bug, MY24 Lux64 too. So I guess is common accross the software build.

I pointed the issue at my dealer, and I got an update booked for September 20th... we will see.

You have issues with digital key too?

MG4 speed adjustments could be the issue is when a side road speed sign is detected it generally is at a lower speed which the MG4 thinks applies to itself when it is not. This is difficult to overcome, so may in future they fix it.
It can also come about when a vehicle has a speed restriction on the side, like an emergency vehicle on other side of rise with a mobile speed sign to control traffic after an accident.

I Have an MY24 but Std51. So, I don't have some functions you have. I'm picking up mine in a couple of hours. Let's see the builds Id.
I've asked also to check the systems software and not only the infotainment.

Nah, it seems that the app for Signal Recognitions simply does not boot up at first boot after x amount of hours of the vehicle being in shutdown.

The intelligent speed assistant default will be down to the recent EuroNCAP changes for 2024 and associated EU rules kicking in.

This will be coming for all UK cars too, by default and so it will be yet another thing to add to my pre-flight checks for the next car. sigh, wish it was the old days where I just turned the key, released the handbrake and drove.
If this is implemented in all cars mid 2024 onwards , then by default its implemented for everyone?
If you are in a line of traffic , and a car somewhere in front of you has this working , either because they like it, do not know how to turn it off, then what ever their car does you have to follow suit or attempt an overtaking manoeuvre, which decreases road safety. It does not matter if the system in their car is faulty (not reading the signs or connecting with GPS .mapping systems ) you will be perceived as the aggressive driver, which ( for now ) will be recorded for information purposes by the hidden black boxes in modern cars,
The aim of course is to have everyone travelling in unity and harmony , which will never happen , especially if your car is seen as a rolling roadblock or privatised police car. :(

The real reason are insurance companies who are driving the changes, since if you don't them they can claim you were at fault with no evidence to support your claims in an accident.

The audible speed limit warning is on by default in the EU cars now, not the intelligent speed limit assist.
It’s going to be a royal pain indeed because it’s not linked to the GPS and therefore wrong on many occasions as we know, so either MG fixes it for the trophy edition and leaves it as silent on SEs, or indeed it will cause quite a lot of complaints.
Why couldn’t they implement it properly I don’t undrestand.
I drove 500 miles in the last couple weeks with my son’s Kia and although at times it got it wrong, it was just a handful of times and nothing crazy.

Ah! maybe I jumped the gun a bit too soon, I'll rehash the post in a couple of years, but in essence I think there will be a bit of validity in its accuracy and predictions.

I don't think there is a way to make it works properly.
All the temporary signals, motorways exits, street crossing and others will mess with it big time. Even with a good GPS aid.

To make it works you need both a readily update map with GPS link and a massive overhaul of the whole signals system, with more signals and better positioning.

But I guess they will play the card "the driver is always responsible of the car handling even with ADAS in place"

Any update on this?
Just got my MG4 lux MY24 last week and the speed limit recognition is just stuck on 30kmph on like ~50% of my drives.
Sometimes just getting out of the car, locking it and getting back in fixes it. On the same roads etc.

Mine too... stuck on 50kmh.
Happens on the first start any given day.
Dealer looked to fix it twice, failing. I guess we just need a new infotaiment release.
