My car's infotainment system is totally freaking out. The touch screen's fine, but I can't get to the settings or use the steering wheel camera shortcut either.

I'm thinking a factory reset might fix it, but I'm not sure how to do it without being able to navigate.
Android Auto works though. I've restarted a bunch of times, no luck.

Here's a video of what's happening: Infotainment Video MG4 JE01

As you can see, everything looks good until the AC screen shows up, then it all goes wonky.

Trophy on r26

EDIT: Managed to fix it by changing the DAB Radio station from the main tile of the main screen!

When you swipe the screen try and tap the radio icon and then change it from FM to DAB. You can change it back to FM afterwards.
You also need the software updating.

When I swipe to the second screen (Icons screen), the system swipes automatically swipes back to the first screen and won't let me use anything in the 2nd screen. The right side menu is also absent as you can see.

Why would it matter to switch from FM to DAB? I never used radio so I'm just asking. I will still try to do it and test it.

You have to be quick. There are a couple of posts on the forum about it but I can't find them at the moment.

Could it be this post?

I'm trying to do it but can't manage.

:ROFLMAO: Trust the advice and keep trying

My hunch is its something to do with the DAB not being initialised correctly which screws up the initialisation of the whole homescreen (the right button bar goes missing IIRC?) which messes up the screen size and it gets confused as to which screen it should be displaying so just flips between the two

You may be able to select DAB then FM by selecting the radio tile on the first main screen if you can't swipe the other screen across and select radio quick enough.

You are definitely not alone:(. Happens for me around every third time I use the car which has the latest software. As above if you can drag to the left and manage to click on the radio button it should clear (about 50% success rate for me). Could indeed be related to the DAB radio as also mentioned above. My DAB is incredibly unreliable - won't start, plays for 2 minutes then drops....

Hi Guys, MG4 Essence here in NZ. I had some problems with the Infortaintment screen recently. Contacted Jerry Pan of NZ who has some videos on Youtube - You should check him out. Jerry suggested I press on Home button for about 30 secs. By trial and error, I found out that physical home button works but NOT sure if the home button on the infortaintment screen works. That physical home button "restart" fixed my minor problems. You should try it. Cheers Dave
