Trouble starting in the morning

My MG ZS EV's display flickers, there is a ticking sound in the right corner, and it won't start in the morning. The alarm also goes off.
I have measured the 12-volt battery, and it reads 14.8 volts.
What could be wrong?

@MG67 If you are going to disconnect the negative terminal of the 12 volt battery, in order to carry out a full reset.
With the - terminal disconnected, then recheck the standing state of the battery.
A return of 14.8 volts may suggest that the car is in the booted mode and the traction battery is therefore charging the 12 volt battery.
This not a truly 100% accurate value of the standing / idle battery state.
Leave the -terminal disconnected for about 15 minutes before you reconnect and tighten.
This will just ensure that the modules in the car have time to completely reset.
Another option would be to try the car first, then if it doesn’t, attach a battery booster pack ( if you have one ) and then try it again.
If it boots successfully, it sign that your battery is discharged or US.

10mm spanner ? and disconnect the negative terminal, check standing voltage, leave 15 mins and reconnect.
Two functions done at the same time is the favoured option.

maybe on your laptop but not on ZS.?

It's "home" button that resets infotainment system (radio) when you press and hold it down for a bit

As @fred12345 has correctly stated, a long press and hold down ( about 10 seconds ) of the “Home” button, that is located under the info unit, WILL trigger a full reboot of the info unit itself ?.
This can be really handy if your info unit decides to suddenly become unresponsive or just locks up etc.
But if you want to carry out a master reset of the entire 12 volt system of the car, then only an interruption / disconnection of the 12 volt battery supply is going to be required.
This procedure can help clear any phantom / rouge glitches / bugs that can produce some strange behaviour and odd error messages being thrown up.
On a couple of occasions, I have noticed that when using the HVAC system to heat the interior cabin space, that both of the separate cabin temperature read outs are completely blank ?.
A hard reset on the head unit itself, is usually enough to resolve the problem !.
Keep the “Home” button firmly held down, then the screen will go black, hold it down until you see the MG logo on the screen, now you can release the home button.

I think moisture is seeping into the electrical components, because last night I left the car out on the road instead of in the carport, where it usually stands on damp ground. Is that completely far-fetched??

Unless water is directly entering some part of the electrical system etc, then where you park it should not make any difference really TbH ??.
Our car has been parked on the drive, in all sorts of weather conditions for over the last two years with no issues reported.
If you have any concerns, then maybe get it checked at your local dealership.

Yep ! - A good idea ?.
I would go for a battery that offers a 4 - 5 year warranty, I am pretty sure the Bosch packs do.
Try Tanya on-line, they offer a next day delivery service ?.

That is a very low state of charge so the battery may be defective. You can get any garage to do a proper battery test.
