So old pics is it, back to 62 my first car and first surfboard along with young sister.
I loved driving the Herald, but it had a seriously bad back end, the early 900cc model had weak half shafts in the diff, I snapped both of them at different times. The transverse leaf spring had a different axis to the axles, so the wheel bearings started to move up the axle and the brake drum scraped on the back plate. Only had it a year!

So this is a bit later about 67, my second car, with my motley mates. This was boggy sand track to one of our favorite surf spots. My mates parked their cars here, loaded all their boards on my Van. Ran along beside and pushed if I started to get bogged. Saved carrying those heavy boards

Interestingly one of those guys ended up a family law court judge, and another a world champion surfer.
Challenge, see if you can pick which was which.

So that was 58 years ago ?
I’m gathering my tent and chattels together and I’m going to go and camp in that very same spot for a couple of days if I can. I’m guessing it was round about the What 3 Words square
“///atomic.amber.amps” which sounds kind of appropriate for a return with an ev don’t you think ?
The Magnette is sat out there with 81% charge and GOM says 220 miles so ample to get over to the Oban ferry terminal where the CPS 50 kW charger is still recorded as zero cost. If I can’t hook up there I’ll try Tesco or Tweed-dale Street or not bother until I arrive at Craignure on Mull.
I’ve not yet booked a ferry crossing so I’ll just see what sort of time I might get there and play it by ear. The ferries are covering extra sailings to Mull and other islands but I’m not desperate for times (after 58 years what’s another few hours ??) I might return via Tobermory over to the Ardnamurchan peninsula but that might be interesting as the Corran ferry is also disrupted- but at least there i can drive around Loch Linnhe albeit it’s a long but beautiful drive.

First mow of the season for Sankey Valley, the resident Swans have had six Cygnets this year. I'll keep a look out for them, when I mow Sankey Valley, once a month. ??
