What OBD code for disabling handbrake for rear brake change?

Daft questions have you tried doing a few hard brakes forcing the physical brakes to kick in vs kers?

I only ask as I do low millage and just round London. My brakes are always getting surface rust and make noises when I drive it after letting it stand. Normally a few quick brakes cleans them off.
Yeah, so, the previous owner must've been a low intelligent elephant as the pads are down to 10% wear as I suspected. Took the wheels off to inspect.

Extremely unlikely that the pads are worn out given the milage you have covered.
It just needs a brake service / clean contact areas and then brake lub applied to the ears of pads and the mating surfaces of the callipers, you know, the lub the factory never installs 😂.
Just be a little guarded here, if the dealer gets their hands on that job, they don’t use the opportunity to whack you to replace the pads and discs, which is going to be a very expensive job ( £900.00 ish ).
Just a thought, If you intended to remove the original pads in the same locations, then why the need to push back the pistons ?.
Unless you are fitting new pads of course !.
Are you 100% sure the squealing is coming from the rears and not the fronts by any chance ?.
Of course, working on brakes should only be tackled if you have previous experience of this type of work and the necessary tools and skill sets required here 👍.
Changed brake pads in the mrs' Kia E-Niro and have been changing my own pads (and oil/filters previously) for about 10 years with no issues. MG has just made this insanely difficult...guess they have to make their money somewhere, just a tad annoying as it's the one thing I can do on my cars.

When I have charged to 100% for a long trip the KERS does very little or nothing when I 'off throttle' at the bottom of our road and I need to apply the footbrake.
Hopefully sufficient to periodically clear the discs 'swept area'?

Are we talking front or rears here, or even both !.
Having only 10% of the original friction pad material remaining, on a car that has only covered the his type of milage on a EV absolutely beggars believe TBH 🤷🏻.

Rears - I suspect they put on shit ones in the factory, or the previous owner had kers set to 1 always and just slammed their foot on the accelerator and brake...genuinely no idea. Local stealers is quoting £80 ex vat for the job so I'm not too miffed.

Okay 👍.
TBH - If it’s only £80+vat for them to replace the rear pads, then I doubt you could DIY it for much less using OEM parts !.
That does sound a bit TOO cheap for a main dealer though, I have to say ?.
It’s going to be about one hours worth of labour + the parts ……. £80 ????.
If so, grab it !.

They've quoted it at 30 minutes labour, the pads were £13, I guess it makes sense? They probably have a stream of people pissed off about it as well.

£13 for set of pads - wow !.
Yeah I'll find out if they made a mistake because £80 sounds too good to be true. Unless they accidentally said the quiet part out loud and told me how much they pay for the pads from China.

Update: It was £80 ex vat, so £96 all in - it was a discounted price because I'm getting it serviced and MOT'ed too.
