Several years ago there was a special offer on sausages at the local supermarket

Sausages £1 or 2 for £3

I actually called one of the assistants over and asked her what the exact price was and she repeated "Sir, the normal price is £1 for a pack but if you want 2 packs then the offer is for £3"

I replied "How does that work then? What happens if only want to pay £2 for 2 packs?"

She replied "Sir, you can't do that, it clearly states what the offer is"

I replied "Are you being serious?"

Yes came the tort and snotty reply

I then asked her to explain in simple maths how the offer actually worked, so she then called over the store manager who back the staff member was correct. For the life of me I could not get them to understand just how wrong it was, I even asked them what the price would be if I wanted 3 packs which he replied £4 (ie 2 packs for £3 plus £1 for the last pack").

I bet when I left they said what a nutter I was and laughed.

This was some time ago, any Aussie will notice this by the prices ....

Travelling through parts of the Northern Territory in Australia, there are very strict rules on how many bottles of spirits can be bought in any 24 hr period and a licence check is required ........ A 1.5ltr bottle of Jack Daniels was $50, 1 bottle of 750ml JD was $15, picked up 4 bottles of 750ml JD and headed for the counter .... They bloke there laughed, pointed at the sign, limit 2 bottles per customer per day ..... so we had to camp over night to get the second 2 bottles to save $40, but it was $60 for the site at the caravan park ....... now you know why he was laughing  We were going to buy a still and make our own ..... still might do that ;)

The initial week time has to be larger to allow the workies to earn enough cash to pile up and overflow all over the pensionpeeps allowing two riotous days of spend, spend, spend before getting down to another midweek moan about nobody works like we used to in the good old days when we could spend a ten shilling note and guarantee we’d get half a crown change week in week out oh these youngsters don’t know they’re born and forget we caused them.

It relates back to when Saturday and Sunday paid as well as 4 days of a normal week when you worked 8 hr days.
Now we have 4 day weeks where you work longer for no extra money, leaving only 3 days at nearly the same money per day as the normal week day workers .... and the mobs that take advantage of that can't figure out why they can't get workers ......

But surely if you are working 4 day weeks instead of 5 day weeks for the same money you are gaining an extra day off, which means 3 days you can earn extra instead of 2. :)
