Hi,

Looking to buy a 2nd EV - this one for wife.

Looks to me like the late 2021/2022 refresh is where I want to be looking. A 2022 long range seems like what we want, and many are Trophy spec. Those are between £16K and £20K based on miles/colours/location etc. Does this seem like the right one to buy? And reason to try to get a 2023 year vs 2022 (were there niggles they ironed out?)

Main uncertainty is the iSmart app and Connect. Does a 2022 model which does not explicitly state”Connect” have remote preheat and decent in car connectivity? I’m very confused!

Thanks!

All the face lifts have remote preheat. Connect models, either specifically called connect for 2022 or the 2023 models which are all connect have the Amazon Music app inbuilt (note : you still need to pay Amazon to get Amazon Music), some voice controls and a WIFI hotspot capability of about 1 mb a month. The 2022 models will have the sunroof. The 2023 models may not.

Any known issue with the 2022s?

Make sure it can charge at Tesla open to all chargepoint. Most can but if it can't, it just needs a software update, done at a dealers service centre. They may or may not charge for this depending on the dealer. Note you you can still charge at other chargepoints if it wont work at a Tesla open to all, but the Tesla ones are cheaper. Only relevant for the occasions when you are on a long journey and / or if you cant charge at home and don't have much local on street charging facilities near you.

I have a 2022 Trophy, standard range. I haven’t had any issues with it. I didn’t want to pay extra for the ‘connect’ version, as I have a Spotify subscription. I just wanted heated seats and a sunroof. The app means that you can preheat the car - so lovely in the winter time, and check its charging amongst other things. It’s comfortable, economic, especially if you mainly charge at home.

same here, bought 2022 Trophy second hand at 42,000 miles and no problems so far at all. sunroof, Tesla chargers work, V2L works, remote app works ... mine was standard range and you probably shouldn't be paying more than £16K max for the equivalent
