Picked up my MG ZS Hampstead GreyTrophy on 27th Nov . My only gripe is when I told my insurance company that I brought my MG they wouldn't insure me as the car was too new . Not enough data on new model!! MG dealership only offered 24 hour cover. So i had to go to a broker which ended costing me £600 . Twice as much as my 2017 kia ceed. I tried to get quotes of comparison sites becuase car hadn't been registered before I picked it up and I couldn't get any quotes. Other dealerships offer 5 day insurance. Just wondering what everybody else is paying for insurance?

Insurance companies do not like you when in your 80's
LV refused to insure me as they do not have this car on their system, what annoys me they refused to look in to the omission.
LV were my then insurer for my Peugeot 308 GT Premium 2021 at the same price level.

LV did the same to me, the excuse was that it was too new and the underwriters hadn’t got round to adding it to their list.
I looked on Compare the Market, there were a number of offers, I chose Admiral, who were very helpful, I also settled for £600.
We had 2 cars, and the house insured with LV, and I will remember their attitude when it comes to renewal.

I suffered the same issue, with Allianz, not interested told me to cancel and find insurance elsewhere. Called a broker, no problem he says, first response was over £9000!! That company came back with reduced premium of £1200+. Used comparison sites and settled round £600 with Admiral.

I bought a ZS Hybrid Trophy a month ago. Because it was a brand new car I had to get a quote online with no reg number which was easy enough, I got a good quote from Admiral but had to phone them with the reg number before they would cover me.

LV happily insured my MG4SE, new this October, for £1133. There's probably an age cost in that at I'm approaching 80.

£526 fully comp, protected NCB for my MG Power and I'm 80yo nine days after Christmas.

LV insured my partner's MG ZS EV in March 2022, so it has been on their database for a while? Make sure they search under MG Motors when trying to find the vehicle as I think there was an initial problem trying to find the vehicle type with just MG ZS.

Had the same issue with Allianz. None of the comparison sites, or brokers for that matter, had the vehicle on the data base. Spoke to the dealer and was informed that if you have the ABI code, which they will give you, the Insurance company should be able to help, that`s if you can find a bloody insurance company where you can speak to a human being. Anyway, went to Admiral, who my wife is insured with. No problems at all. Added it in with her insurance. Paid pro rata for the rest of the policy term. Not excessive, in fact think it was cheaper than my petrol ZS, which I traded in for this car. So impressed with their service that I included contents insurance (which coincidentally was coming up for renewal) with them. It was only fractionally more expensive than my current provider, but at least I can talk to a human, which I couldn`t with both the previous car and contents insurance companies, -unless I was making a claim.
