It's right here:-Hi, I cannot find the micro phone icon on my MG 4, hence not able to use the voice commands. Can anyone help me please and thanks.
Can confirm, quick press for MG voice if it’s enabled in settings of course, hold for Siri if you’re connected through CarPlay(I assume the same applies for Siri/Apple Carplay).
Hi, model is Excite, software is SW131-29958-1100R05.I see you’re from Australia…
Is your car an Excite or Essence trim level?
And what’s your current software version?
My model is the Excite, do I need to download Android Auto into my phone?Standard = Excite 51 = SE SR
Press and hold that button for a second or so to make Google respond. Only works when you have Android Auto running. (I assume the same applies for Siri/Apple Carplay).
Depends how old your phone is.My model is the Excite, do I need to download Android Auto into my phone?
I have an Android phone
A few things to check. You need to wait to plug in the phone until the car says "Ready".I have Android 12, and nothing happens when I connect my phone to the USB socket.
A quick internet search shows that a lot of Pixel 6 owners are having problems with Android Auto.I have a google pixel 6 phone.
I have Android 12,
The pixel 6 shipped with Android 12 but over time has been upgraded to Android 15. Why are you not running it?I have a google pixel 6 phone.
Which USB socket and with what cable? Is it a Google Pixel cable or a 3rd party cable?...nothing happens when I connect my phone to the USB socket.
Hi, Thanks for pursuing this for me, much appreciated. The pixel 6 shipped with Android 12 but over time has been upgraded to Android 15. Why are you not running it?
Do you update your installed applications?
You should.
Not updating your phone leaves it open to security vulnerabilities.
Which USB socket and with what cable? Is it a Google Pixel cable or a 3rd party cable?
Have you used Android Auto in another car with this phone and cable?
One other thing... Have you already Bluetooth paired the phone to the car?
You shouldn't have to, to get wired Android Auto to run (it is required for wireless AA) but it might be worth trying just in case.
I'm asking these questions as the answers would be useful information for the MG service.
